Great songs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn So Big Puppy for my one year old.
The puppy sits on its own easily. Only the battery pack at the bottom is hard. You’d want to make sure no one got hit in the head with it because it would certainly hurt. The rest of the puppy is very soft though and a child can easily snuggle with it if they wanted to. The large head size is nice because I think it draws attention easily. My 1 year old immediately put his face on the puppy’s head and then patted it.
The music is great and makes my 1 year old dance. It’s not just the typical learning songs you usually hear with kid’s songs but instrumental music as well that sounds more modern and would make anyone want to dance. Even my 4 year old started dancing. I find myself pushing the button just to listen to the beat of some of the songs!
Some of the songs are about letters, numbers, colors, friendship, etc. I haven’t heard a song yet that is super annoying, but since there is only one button to push, it’s completely random what you will hear. It would be better if there were multiple buttons to push so you could choose a category like letters or numbers. The box also said there are 90+ phrases and songs, but I’ve only heard a handful so far. The same ones tend to replay. So I’m not sure how to change that as there is only one button to push that’s on the belly of the puppy. Sometimes when you just pick up the puppy and move him he starts to sing though.
There are two stages of songs though. You just switch the mode on the underside of the puppy. It’s nice for switching things up so you’re not hearing the same stuff all the time, but again it would be better if you could have more of a say in what you wanted your child to focus on.
There are also words labeling certain parts of the puppy. The word “wiggle” is on the ear and the words “spin” and “jump” are on the bottom paws. These areas don’t do anything. It leads one to believe that if you press them the puppy will do something but they are simply just words to look at. It’s a little disappointing but I guess you could teach your child some of the letters. It would have been better to just have the letters of the alphabet spread out all over the puppy.
Overall I think it’s a great toy for babies and young toddlers. Both boys and girls will like it. And I think parents won’t mind it because the music is more modern and not super annoying. It’s also not super loud on the higher volume setting so a kid can still enjoy it in a quiet atmosphere.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My boys were very excited to open this gift on Christmas. This puppy is big and soft and cuddly - he’s perfect for my 5 year old son‘s arms but educational wise he is perfect for my 18 month twins. This puppy has 2 stages that you can choose from based on the age of your kiddos. So when my 18 month twins play with him I set him to stage 1 and when my 5 year old plays with him I switch him to stage 2. I really like the versatility of this puppy and the songs. The puppy teaches them the alphabet in both modes and in stage one also teaches them about animal sounds and counting. Stage 2 is the same - he still teaches the alphabet and counts up to 20 and asks them if they recognize the animal sounds they previously learned in stage 1. Overall he’s a very cute puppy - he has very vibrant colors and is super soft and cuddly. You can also change the volume controls to low and high and turn him off completely when not in use. His button is very easy to push and big enough for little hands. Great buy

Cute, but not super engaging

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Puppy toy was much larger than I had anticipated. It has a hard bottom for the battery pack so it can sit up well. It would have been nice if it was full of beans instead of being hard plastic on the bottom. It has two sound levels, which is always nice for toys that make sounds. It only has one big button on the front that plays a variety of different songs and lights up. It also has two different levels of play, which is nice. Unfortunately, it didn’t keep my 2 year olds attention as much as I had hoped, but he still plays with it on occasion.

Great for all young kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this toy to review and it was a little older and younger than my kids. So I waited a bit to let my youngest have it. I pulled it out and all three kids (5, 3, and 10 months) loved it. The oldest 2 dance and move to it and the youngest dances the best he can, copying brothers. I bet if I had the right aged kid, that the kid would really love it even more. It sings and tells you to act like animals which my older kids love to do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a person who doesn’t read instructions and just dives right in. This puppy is for toddlers, my little guy is a toddler but doesn’t follow instructions so this may not be the best toy for him just now. The puppy has a single button in the center that activates all songs and “suggestions” for toddler. Easy to use, good size too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Laugh & Learn So Big Puppy a few days before Christmas and intended to give it as a gift to my son (1 1/2). He found the box it was stashed in, pressed a few buttons and was instantly hooked. The soft, teddy-bear aspect makes the Puppy perfect for carrying around the house and snuggling, while the noises and interactions keep his attention.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I have to say that when they say it’s a big puppy. They truly mean big. The songs and colorful light on its belly keeps my little one very entertained. The actual toy is very soft and has a solid base so it can actually sit up. Which is a nice feature.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This puppy is huge! It was bigger than I expected, but It is cuddly and soft. It plays different music/songs when the button in his belly is pushed. My baby loves giving this big guy hugs and snuggling up to him.
