One factor in buying was the availability in the "Slate" color,we didn't see any other brands out there.It is EXTREMELY quiet and cleans quite well.

Soap dispenser is terrible

We bought this dishwasher 5 months ago and have had 4 service calls. The soap dispenser would not release the soap every time nor would it dry the dishes. They came out and had to reprogram the dishwasher and replace dryer air vent. Next service call was to replace the soap dispenser. Then something else went wrong and had to be repaired. Now, the top controller panel has come off. Maybe this one was just a lemon! After washing the dishes last night, the soap dispenser did not release all the soap and I did not overload the washer and I have plenty of water pressure. Not sure what is going on with it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cleans really well

I have never had a dishwasher before so I was a bit leery about how well it can do the job. Very impressed. I have discovered you do have to load it carefully so all areas of the dishes are hit by the water. Also, I have made the mistake of loading longer utensils on the top so it doesn't allow the sprayers to move. These are learning experiences for me as a new owner, but may be worth mentioning. It has a steam setting and cleans really soiled dishes in an excellent manner. It does have long run cycles depending on what setting you use, but then you just run it in the evening. It's very quiet. Very effective and highly recommended.

What a horrible dishwasher. I have to run my dishes almost to the point of cleaning them. Dishes still come out dirty. Really sad and wish I wouldn't have got it. I can only hope GE stands by their product.

We have been using the dishwasher for approximately 45 days. It does seem to take a long time to wash the dishes. It is a beautiful machine.

Replaced an 18 year old GE washer that started to leak. Found this one and it had all the features I wanted plus it looks great. One problem is to get the dishes dry you need to set the "Dry Option". Not a big deal, but they are soaked if you don't. Also because the silverware containers hang on the front of each rack you lose some dish area. The best part of this washer is that there is almost no sound.

Very quiet and functional!

I bought this dishwasher to replace the dinosaur that I had. My old one was so loud, I am sure the neighbors could hear it running! This new one was not only so quiet I had to listen really hard to hear it run, I also had to open the door a few times to look inside and see that it was running. It is extremely spacious. I can put several large Tupperware brand bowls in it and still fit my dinner dishes in the same load. The only drawback is that when I load my nylon cooking utensils in the lower rack basket, they sometimes block the detergent compartment so the compartment cannot open and dispense the soap. Otherwise, I am extremely happy with this dishwasher!
