It is amzingly quiet. Even standing right next to it you can hardly hear it running.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I rated it at 4 stars due to the drying problem otherwise it definitely deserves 5 stars. The best feature is that it is virtually noiseless. The worst problem is that the dishes do not dry, on the top shelf only, regardless of the settings. GE came out to fix it with some sort of modification but that did not work. We currently have another appointment with GE to attempt a different fix for the problem. If that works it really is the perfect dishwasher.

Nice looking but difficult to load

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher has a nice appearance but I find it difficult to load. One whole side of the bottom is hard to load anything smaller than a large plate. The top has a place on each side that you should be able to load small cups on top of each other, but nothing really fits well on the top drop down racks unless it is a large spoon or something. Very annoying. The silverware is very difficult to work with because of all the individual holes, they aren't big enough unless all your silverware is pretty narrow. If you take the covers off it all bunches together. Lastly....it doesn't clean as well as it should for being so new. I am not sure it drains well even though the installer set the drain up properly for this washer. Even though we rinse dishes well before loading and use the recommended soap there is still a smell on the dishes. Can't figure it out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needs Redesign and better QA/QC

Failed to work from the day we purchased our new home. Failed to heat water, failed to vent water vapor out of unit IOT dry dishes, failed to dry dishes, failed to heat water, Control board bad so would not energize heating elements. Two service appts later its completely dead and has to be replaced. Utensil bin location next to door continually gets jammed at the top of the door. . Have to push start every time you open/close the door. Loud is an understatement. Cycles last FOREVER. They say the longer cycle times are for better pressure as each arms sprays separately. This equals three hours of washing time which is plain stupid. 60-70minutes is all you need maybe 80-90 on heavy wash with Sanitize. Unit needs redesign and better QA/QC at the factory.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

poor decision to buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The good - Hidden controls are a plus and exterior appearance is very nice. The washer is extremely quiet. That’s the best feature.
The not so good - The placement of the silverware baskets is very poor. Sometimes the soap and rinse disburser seem to be blocked and does not fully empty if we put small plates in front of that area. We use the recommended dishwasher detergent and rinse agent. The silver is sometimes not completely clean. We have temp boost on and water temperature is correct. The interior does not completely dry. We use the heat setting. Maybe this is an energy saver, but not worth it.
We have had other brands in the past that we prefer more. We bought the GE d/w to match the other appliances (which by the way would get much better reviews).

Too many wash options

Just keep it simple: Heavy wash or normal wash. Especially don't like water temperature choice. Also make it air dry or heat dry, period. It does do an excellent job producing sparkling clean dishes and utensils.
