LOVE the scan feature!!

Pros: The scan feature is AWESOME and worked perfectly. I cut both HTV and stickers and both turned out perfectly! I'm so excited to be able to use this. It connected to my wifi/computer very easily and I found that easier to use than working directly from the machine's screen (if you need to connect directly to your machine you will need a printer cable that it does not come with). I love that the compartments built into the machine hold the cord & tools. The test cut feature allows you to move the test cut location in case you have a small piece of material or you need to do a second test.
Cons: I struggled to find directions on how to use it and the features. In the end I searched YouTube videos with the style number and what I wanted to do and those were VERY helpful. I would recommend just starting via that route.
Overall: I am so happy with this machine. My previous experience is with a portable cutter that I purchased a PixScan mat for that requires you to use your camera and I was never able to get it to work correctly. Having the scanner built into the machine means I don't have to deal with bad camera angles or trying to get it to upload. The scanner worked perfectly from my first attempt. I did wind up using the vector pen to draw where I wanted my cuts to be on the scan because the self-detecting edge wasn't where I wanted it but I don't mind that a machine can't read my mind. :)
You will also need space to use it. The machine itself is large and you need space in front and behind it for the mat to feed through. Just something to keep in mind when it comes to storing/using it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't say enough about this!! Set up was very easy. The crafts I can make are endless. I have only begun to explore the items I can make. My creativity is flowing and I keep thinking of more things I can use the Brother scanNcut to create. The touch screen makes it easy to scan an item to use for your projects. If you like to do any type of crafting this is an item you can't do without. Definitely recommending this to my friends who like to craft.

I didn't have much experience with these types of machines but now I'm hooked. The machine was easy to setup and download the software. The machine is also very quiet when cutting and gets it done fast. There are so many different projects this machine can do and I'm excited with the possibilities of all the crafts I can create.

I love to craft and make projects so this is the most perfect addition to add to my supplies can't wait to try some more of the extra pack that you can but. It can do so many things and the scan and cut function is amazing. The scan accuracy is fantastic. Now it is plug and play but the more advanced crafts needed a little more learning time as you need to know pressure and dimension and certain functions for certain projects. Overall, I was able to make a simple gift box to customizable planner stickers to vinyl stickers for labels and more. It came with 251 designs and you can purchase our download many more. The Canvas Workspace is super easy to use as well. The touchscreen option on the machine is big and easy to use as well. I am really happy with this machine and I also own Cricut machines and I feel this machine dies more.

Time to get creative

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a bit nervous that I would be able to figure out how to work the SDX85S. I really like the quick guide that comes with this since it really helped me understand how to use the different features. This is wireless internet and was very easy to set up and makes it nice that I have access wherever I set it up. Being somewhat of a beginner this really has features that make this easier for me to use. I do like that it comes with instructions on how to insert the mat that was right on the inside of the lid when I opened so I was able to get started right away.

Good machine for crafters

I thought Brother SDX85 will be an ideal machine in helping me with that. When I first saw it, I loved its compact and nice design. The setup of machine looked little bit complex to me but it was not. I read the instructions that came with the machine, but the online installation videos made it more clear to me.
It comes with a auto blade holder, standard tack adhesive mat, spatula, stylus, accessory bag, power cord and 1 cardstock. Once installed and connected to internet, the machine was ready for use. I was able to load the mat easily and did test/trial cut several times for accurate cutting. Moreover, the machine is not noisy.
I like its scanning feature, by which I can scan my own personalized design and can cut it out. Love that it comes with lots of built-in designs which is helpful for beginners/crafters. I had tried few projects with cardstock and I would love to try crafts with felt & fabric. I wish it came with more crafting accessories! This machine has lot of potential and I can't wait to explore it.
