Doesn’t work right

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Hot Wheels City Toxic Snake Strike Playset as a free sample. Set up was easy enough and removal from the package was not difficult. The car doesn’t make it all the way to the head of the snake most times. It either hits something and the car spins away or the snake triggers early. Sometimes the launcher misfires and it doesn’t go anywhere. My son decided to use it to hold up his tablet and hasn’t used it much as a track since we got it. Also the slime doesn’t stay in the mouth like its supposed to. We used it on a flat surface so we know the issues were not due to being on carpet. Also the snake is difficult to reset sometimes and my son got frustrated when it wasn’t resetting for him.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Slimy Fun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hours of play. My 3 boys loved to watch the car flip. The slime was fun and easy to clean up. The set came with a 'cool' car and they loved adding more tracks to the set. It was fun to outsmart the Cobra.

So Much Fun and the Slime is a Bonus

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy was an absolute winner with both of my children. Set up was easy and since the play element is relatively simple – place the car and slam the launcher – both my eight year old and three year old could play. I think the buttons that the car lands on after it launches need a little bit of play to loosen up a bit to work well. The button that caused the snake to “attack” worked like a charm, but it took a lot of play time for the button that caused the snake to “die” to actually trigger that function when hit by the car. After a few days of play that was working fine too. Really it’s delightful fun! And yes, I was being lame and hesitant about the slime aspect of the toy – I made the kids use that element on the kitchen floor only – but even mom and dad had to admit how ridiculously fun the slime was as it was dripping out of the snake’s mouth (plus it really did stay together all in one blob – I thought I’d have to clean the toy after use but there was no need). While not a necessary element for play, it did add lots of excitement, especially when the car got caught in it, and I appreciated the thought to have a little slot for the cup of slime to sit in during play. I would heed the age recommendation for the toy; while I let my three year old play with his brother under my supervision, little fingers can get pinched when resetting the snake each time it “dies” or “attacks.”

My son thought it was ok

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 5year old was not very impressed with it unfortunately. He said it took too long for it to make it all the way through. We did not open the slime but maybe if it was warmer out he could have tried it outside with the slime. Too much of a mess indoors.

Fun toy, not super messy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 5 year old received this and I was leary at first on account of the slime. It had potential to be very messy but ended up they it wasn't really. He had to a harder time hitting the launcher to actually get the car to go through the track but he didn't seem to mind. Overall, he enjoyed this set and played with it for a few hours

Fun playset with and without slime

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Setup: We had some difficulty connecting the orange track to the other parts, but eventually figured it out. Making sure it is connected properly is key to making the playset work.
Slime: This track can be used with and without slime. My son enjoyed playing with it both ways. But from a parent point of view, the slime feature was too messy of a component. This is something that would need to be played with outdoors or on a floor that is easy to clean up if using the slime feature.
Compatibility: Not all hot wheel cars can be used on this track. For a car to be successful in staying on the track, you really have to use the kind of car shape that is included with the playset (flat and low to the ground).
Overall: My son enjoyed playing with the snake playset and would recommend.

Only Worked for 24 hours

My son received this toy as a gift and loved it. After 24 hours of playing with it the snake no longer latches into position. It either falls forward or backward. Not worth purchasing again.

Great Hot Wheels Addition!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great hot wheels track! The snake striking action is a lot of fun. The added slime feature is a huge hit with my 5 year old. And luckily the slime doesn’t cause a mess! This holds his interest for a while.
