This is a must have

This is a must have for a MacBook Pro. I have plugged everything from a usb Ethernet adapter to my external hard drive with no problem. Even have a blue ray drive so I can burn movies and also my iPhone 7 is connected. It gets slightly warm and that’s he only negative I have. My other laptop doesn’t even have a micro sd slot and this has both a micro and standard slot. I was afraid of making the jump to a MacBook because of the usb c ports but this made it 170% easier for the windows to Mac jump. I even have another one for a back up because I can’t see myself using any other adapter if I break my first one.

This is exactly what I needed for my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9"! After lots of research, and numerous YouTube reviews of this and similar items, there was no question THIS was the one to choose.
When I received it, I was not disappointed at all. It does exactly what it says, and what I needed it to do.
If there is any critique at all, I would only say the length of the flat extension cable could be a few inches longer. If you have a protective case on your iPad and need to use the extension, it sticks straight out 4". If you have several attachments plugged in, it bends at a slightly odd angle and seems to put a some stress on the USB-C end, attached to the iPad. Not a huge deal, but worth noting.
Otherwise, don't waste your money on anything but the best. This is it.

Had the hyperdrive for a week now, seems well built and does what it is supposed to do. HDMI display works but it seems that the tv image is not the same dimensions as the iPad. There is more image on the TV than the iPad, it’s as though the iPad raw export is 4:3 but scaled on the device. When looking at photos the tv screen is not the same as the iPad image (top and bottom is truncated). This is not a limitation of the HyperDrive unit, just a limitation if you plan to display photos. This scaling is not there when you use AirServer (Windows) or AppleTV.
It would be great if I had an app to customize the HyperDrive - e.g. turn off the blue led.

My wife and I are musicians and to be able to run a headphone jack to our PA, charge and also run a HDMI cable to my wife's monitor whilst on stage performing is just amazing using my iPad Pro 12.9. The firmware update has been perfect.
