Since my spouse has a 2020 12.9” iPad Pro, and I have a 2021 (M1) version of the same size, we grabbed one of these to share. We have a Magic Keyboard, which meant that we each had a laptop-type setup if/when we needed.
We got the hub, and after taking a look, it sat on the shelf until one of us (in this case me) needed it. That’s when I couldn’t get it to work. It wasn’t until a couple of weeks later that I sat down and discovered the reason why: I needed to change the bracket on the unit to work with the thicker M1-based iPad Pro, and I was using it upside-down. The “lip” on the bracket goes in front with the HDMI port up, not the reverse.
Now, neither of us are new at this; in my case I’ve been a systems administrator and IT professional for over 30 years. The problem was in a total lack of instructions. We could find nothing that told us what to do, and at first didn’t even notice the larger bracket, as it was so tightly packed in the plastic tray that it looked like part of it.
Long story short, after swapping brackets, it works quite well, and really does make an iPad Pro/Magic Keyboard combo into a fairly good laptop replacement on an ad-hoc basis. The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is the lack of good documentation.

Such a Great Product!

Connection spotty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dongle works, but I have to twist it into a certain curled position for it to stay connected. Caused corruption on an important hard drive because of the inconsistent connection. Makes it impossible to use without being in a very specific position. I'm frustrated about that. I've had it less than 1 year.

The only reason I haven’t given it a 5th star is because it doesn’t work with my logi tech protective cover and keyboard, I have to take the cover off to use it, with is annoying and concerning as I use my iPad outdoors and need the added protection.
