Looks great, but rack design disappoints

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit installed easily and looks great, but I'm disappointed in the storage racks. It holds a lot of bottles if you have the right kind of wine bottles, but some bottles are too large in diameter to fit between shelves, while others are too long to allow interleaving bottle directions. I have another brand installed elsewhere with racks that are shaped to bottles that interleave the bottles to use space more efficiently. It would not be a difficult thing to implement.

Not much beyond the good looks...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this cellar is nice-looking, there are several issues that make it a poor choice. First, while it stores red wine bottles well, Chardonnay bottles are too wide to fit well as there is only one shelf that supports the wider diameter. And if you are stocking any type of sparkling wine, that need shelf needs to be used for those. Second, the larger shelf is in the bottom of the unit. That is the unit that can be set at room temperature for reds. The top unit highest setting is 54 degrees which makes it too cold for red wines. So, you cannot really use the cellar effectively for reds and whites. I would return the unit, but it is in the same room as the other Kitchenaid appliances with the same look and feel.

Does not hold all types of wine bottles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very picky when it came to choosing this appliance. I will tell you that this model does not hold larger wine bottles like Pinot Noir, Sparkling Wine, or Syrah. If you only want to store Chardonnay or Cabs then this is the model for you. There is one area on the bottom where a larger bottle could fit but it does not give you the option of switching the temperature. Kitchen Aid doesn’t know that sparkling and Syrah are kept at completely different temperatures. This was not an inexpensive appliance and to not be able to fully utilize it makes me mad, hence the 2 star review. It does hold the temperature and I do like the dual zone feature. The drawers glide nicely. But I will never buy this product again unless they redesign the interior. I suggest collaborating with a sommelier when you redesign.

The drawers slide in and out with ease, and the zone temperatures work perfectly whenever they are adjusted. I would highly recommend this cellar to anyone looking to include one in their renovation or addition projects!

Does not meet promises

We just got our cellar. We were told we could fit up to 46 bottles of wine in it. This is impossible. The most we can fit is 26 bottles. These are all KitchenAid’s recommended size. I am so disappointed, I will go back to the store to return it. I have seen comments on the U.S. website that people have been complaining about this going back 6 years ago and nothing has been done. Is KitchenAid a serious company?
