Replacement refrigerator

We purchased the Cafe to replace our 21 year old Kitchenaid. I hope we have as much success with the Cafe. So far, I am very happy. The only change I would have liked, would be to have the door shelves adjustable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Continuous Build-up of Ice on Freezer Floor

We were happy with our 2 year old refrigerator until ice began to build up on the freezer bottom every few weeks. This despite our paying attention to closing the freezer door. Ice also builds up on the bottom door edge and may interfere with the bottom door seal. Also, the refrigerant can now be heard circulating in the system where the unit used to be quiet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

4 service calls/2 months later, still not working

I purchased this the counter depth refrigerator as a part of a complete appliance package (fridge, microwave, dishwasher, oven range) for a full renovation of a duplex kitchen. The Cafe line of GE appliances look very sleek and that feature appealed to me.
However, my refrigerator and freezer has NEVER actually cooled. I had professional installation and now after after 4 separate service calls, 2 groups of technicians and over 2 months (first service call on 9/23/21), confirmation 064863702, I still have a non-functioning refrigerator.
This refrigerator is for a rental unit and I cannot rent the unit without a working appliance. I have lost at least 3 months of rental income and still no end to the problem in sight. If you find yourself in need of nice appearing appliances for personal or rental properties, at this point I would suggest looking to another, more reliable brand. Had I read the reviews prior to purchasing, I would not be surprised by the performance of this appliance.
I plan to request full refund and removal of this appliance if my 5th service call produces the same result. I also appreciate the replies from GE on this unfavorable reviews on this website, "contact if you have any questions," without actually providing specific information to do so.

Avoid At All Cost

For 8 grand you would think that quality control would be paramount. Nope. Door out of alignment. Handle scarred. replacement handle even worse. Sad. You want to support an American company, but this is what you get, and for 8k! Spend the extra 2 or 3 grand and get a quality product.

A no-frills, value for money built-in refrigerator. Good looking, plenty of storage space, and well priced in the built-in segment. We’ve had it for 6 months now and love it!
