Still don't know if air purifiers are helpful

I keep replacing my filters but I still don't know if Blueair or any air purifiers are beneficial to me. I still have bad allergies and my bedroom (where I operate the Pure 311) still traps cooking odors because it's the only room in my house where I never open the window. When I'm doing some soldering the 311 seems to suck in some of the nasty fumes so that's the only time I know it's working. And the red light turns on too.
The newest filter replacement I received has a smell that fills my room, so one star removed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Filter swap is fairly straight forward. Removing the old filter and comparing it to the new reveals the dirt/pollutants the filter removes from your environment. Pretty eye opening to say the least.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the filters are a little expensive. Right now I'm waiting on a filter for my living room machine. I can tell it's not on because when I come home from work, my house smells musty and kitchen odors last forever almost.

We have 5 air filters in our house. We had ours running before, during, and 3 days after the recent fires in Los Angeles (until the power was cut). We got power back a few weeks later and turned them on again. We are still in an evacuation zone. Our house is still standing but had almost no smoke. Thank you BlueAir!
