Slim Profile Microwave Review

With a recent kitchen remodel I wanted a separate wall mounted microwave over a single wall oven vs. an oven/microwave combo appliance. I set the end of cooking time chime to high & it isn’t as loud as I would like it to be. It sounds too low. The oven light turns on when door is open but when in use, despite the oven light being on, the cavity isn’t well lit up as I think it should be. If the microwave light had been placed on a wall instead of the upper front of this appliance, a person would be able to see the food while it’s cooking much better through the tinted glass. Perhaps if you redesign this oven, a repositioning of the light so it lights the interior better would be a plus. One star removed for the low sounding end of cooking time & poor placement of interior light.
The microwave’s slim profile is great as most times I am either reheating food on a plate, melting butter or chocolate in a small bowl or cooking a frozen dinner entree. It is tall enough to handle a decent sized mixing bowl if needed. The removable glass plate is also a decent size.
Regarding installation, my contractor had to use shims on the interior shelf of the cabinet opening as the microwave wasn’t level. The shims corrected that.
The removal of the blue plastic was difficult to remove completely across the bottom of the glass. I believe the protective plastic was applied below the glass installation during manufacture instead of at the very end prior packing for the customer to receive. Please correct that.

Don't Buy

would not recommend. I normally only buy kitchenaid products, but this was the most expensive piece of junk ever. the turntable falls off the track when you put absolutely anything on it. anytime I put butter in it explodes all over the place. The food is either not warmed through and takes forever or it is completely overcooked. There is no rhyme or reason. This is a complete lemon microwave and would stay away from it.

Sleek and modern microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this microwave for our new construction home and are very pleased with it. We bought the slim trim package so it looks really sleek. I love that the controls are inside the door, making it even more modern looking. This hasn't been an issue for us, but the height of the cooking area is not as tall as most microwaves so if you are used to putting really big things in a microwave, this would not be the right one for you. Overall, we are happy.
