I primarily work from home so I need a fast computer for graphic design and web development. My 8-year old HP Desktop just couldn't handle the Adobe Photoshop 2020 update and was 50/50 booting up so I needed to get a fast computer that can handle Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign as well as web development applications at all once. This computer handles it all super well and is very fast. I'm impressed. Set up was super easy. The built-in speakers are good enough for Zoom meetings and such but terrible for music so I had to reconfigure the headphones port to use other speakers. The touchscreen is nice, but I don't use it much probably because I'm not very used to it yet. It took me a while to get used to the fan which only occasionally runs, but it's so rare that it isn't a big deal.
I'm not unhappy with it but I'm not happy. It seems to hear up with minimal use, then the very loud fan turns on. That shouldn't be happening with basic word processing and email and a handful of web browsers open.
I received the all in one and it is perfect for daughter's home school since we travel to help father with cancer and disabled mother and carrying a lone machine easier. We ordered a BlueTooth travel mouse with the computer and the instructions are TERRIBLE! It says to push and hold 3 seconds, but not which light should be blinking of the two, so when we did that it was not syncing but if we changed the flashing light to the other light option and held 3 seconds it at least was recognized by computer but we still couldn't sync. Which led to the next problem. The Bluetooth on the computer is not working at all. It will find devices and almost register them to be useful then kick them off! We can't use the mouse and we can't use her bluetooth headset for her to use while attending the video sessions. I called support and went through a number of steps including wiping and installing Windows again with no luck. Now comes the next issue. For me to get issue fixed I can send the computer back, they will verify issue and send a replacement and this means daughter is without school computer for a couple weeks and having to share mine I use for work. They will charge me again meaning I am out almost a grand to receive one and be reimbursed when other computer goes back. However we just can't risk not having outr emergency money in case we have to travel south if there is family emergency with my parents as mentioned above. Or just don't use Blue Tooth and I place this information everywhere I can to let them know this model is faulted.
The fan is extremely loud. I bought this computer for school work and it is so loud that my professors cannot hear me on zoom calls. The microphone picks up the fan noise and makes it sound like I am standing right out on a runway with a jetplane.
!st day in service and the fan makes a funny noise, like a jet engine on a plane when its trying to take off. I will give it a couple of days before reporting it as defectice.
We were overdue on replacing our home office machine. We have only had our new HP all-in-one for a short period but now we sometimes negotiate who gets to use that machine instead of our laptops. Very fast and it had great specs including the i7 processor. Does make noise when not in use but have read that is common with the 17.
I like the product. It has the memory and power I need. It looks nice and works well and responds quickly. However, I cannot give a 5 star rating because of startup issues. Many mornings I have to turn the computer off and back on to get the screen to come on.
