Better than nothing!

Really nice to get some sense of how many pellets are left. It doesn’t take into account uneven distribution from the divot that is caused by pellets being pulled in by the auger, so it’l day 30% when it’s more like 50% after smoothing they out again, but it’s still something, gives me some idea of what’s left, and I definitely recommend it!

The pellet sensor allows me the freedom to do whatever I need to get done during the day. I smoke and grill often this sensor takes this guess work out of when I need to refill the hopper

Pellet Sensor Review

Easy to install and can save a costly piece of meat should you run out. Doesn’t give completely accurate readings since the pellets can remain around the wall of hopper and smoothing it back out can take you from 25% remaining back to 50%. But if gravity didn’t pull those pellets down, it would be right and you’d be close to running out. Before this, i used to always top off my hopper so I didn’t run out. I bought 3 just for the peace of mind.
The app only shows it when the Grill Temp monitor is the active monitor or on the home screen. So if you’re watching probe temp or timer, you have to switch back to grill temp to check on pellets. Though alerts fire off regardless.
This will definitely help you determine if you’re a hopper half full or hopper half empty person.

Trager Pellet Sensor - A great and needed feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sensor is a very great feature to the grill. I have a Traeger 575 PRO grill. It is easy to calibrate. It posts it to your WIFI phone. When you do a many hour cook it is essential as it alerts your phone if pellets are low. It is as essential as the other great features the grili WIFI has. I just did a 13 hour smoke / cook a 13# prime rib roast. It came out great. I had, by the pellet sensor 50% of my pellets left.

Works great. I don't keep my pellet bin totally full so this is a great aid to tell me when I need to add more Pellets.

Pellet sensor is a nice add on but not necessary

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works pretty well. It doesn't assess the whole bin only directly under the sensor. So if the pellets aren't sliding down right under the sensor it reads a low number but if you go stir some of the pellets over it then bumps up. I wish the pellets funneled down better. I'm using traeger brand ones on a pro 575.
