Worst dish washer I've ever used!

Worst dish washer I've ever used!
There are many issues.
To start it does not clean dishes very well, even when functioning properly.
This dish washer latch system has major mechanical issues, it does not stay closed so it will not complete a cycle witout personal modification. Whoever took part in design or approval or distribution of this latch mechanism should be ashamed.
The electrical boards on these washers also frequently go bad, giving customers a myriad of issues to trouble shoot when their washers go bad.
The lower spray arm on my washer also melted and flew off during a cycle when the washer was less than two years old.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We want to help out with your dishwasher not cleaning well and with the door issues you are noticing.
The most important factor when it comes to the cleaning performance is the temperature of your inlet water. We recommend making sure it is reaching 120 degrees F minimum. This helps with dissolving detergent and removing food stains. You can also check your water pressure, very low water pressure keeps the dishwasher from filling or filling enough. The water pressure needs to be between 20 to 120 PSI.
We recommend checking through the article below for additional troubleshooting tips that can be incredibly helpful.
As for the door mechanism, we recommend scheduling service with our Bodewell team. You can do so by calling 1-833-426-3393 or by visiting this link: https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service

Do Not Buy!

This dishwasher came brand new with my home. Within 1 year, the top and bottom dishwasher racks rusted. The dishwasher rack is not safe to use, and the coating on the racks comes off. Do not buy this dishwasher! Photos attached are current condition.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I don’t even know if it’s clean. It’s all plastic inside and out. Came with the house. It’s smelly makes the dishes smell like chemicals. I’ve ran it a few times, thoroughly cleaned it. Idk what’s up with it it’s the plastic on the inside I believe.

Hello- Thanks so much for reaching out. We are happy to help! Odors associated with new appliances are normal. The processes used during manufacturing often may leave a "newness" odor that may not dissipate until after several washing cycles. This condition is completely normal. You can alleviate this condition by running the dishwasher through several cycles using detergent. If you continue to have issues, please reach out to GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737. Thank you! Joyce@GEA

Hi there, and thanks for reporting this situation to us. We truly hate to hear the dishwasher in your new house isn’t working – we know how frustrating this must be, especially when you need to wait for service. This isn’t the experience we want for you, and we regret any inconvenience this has caused.
After reviewing our system, we do see your service appointment pending. We are confident the dishwasher will serve your needs well once this issue has been addressed, and we’ll let our team know of your experience for review. If you wanted to try any troubleshooting in the meantime, checking the fuse or circuit breaker to make sure enough power is reaching the unit, and the control panel to make sure it isn’t locked, can sometimes help when the dishwasher isn’t running at all. We have more troubleshooting tips starting on page 19 of the manual; if that may help, it’s linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000218-2.pdf& .
Going forward we will work to earn your trust in our brand. If you have any other concerns or questions, we are happy to offer assistance any time. -Sarah@GEA
