Not Happy!
on August 25, 2023
Posted by: Barb Milian
from Lakewood Ranch, FL
This mediocre dishwasher came with our newly built home as a standard appliance. We’ve had nothing but problems since day 1 stemming from water drainage and overflow /leaking on to my floor. We had a service tech that fixed the leaking part but the drainage is an ongoing problem. Plus it is not very quiet for a newer model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bottom rack falls off.
on August 30, 2023

The bottom rack falls off "track" every time you use it. The wheels aren't wide enough to keep the rack in place. Maybe if it had an actual track or wide wheels it would be fine.

Good afternoon,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on your GE Appliances dishwasher. We are sorry to hear that the lower rack is coming off track. We're happy to provide some guidance!
If your upper or lower racks seem to be squeaking, sticking or are not rolling out all the way, the most common cause is either hard water mineral build-up or a build-up of detergent residue.
Hard Water:
Using a Rinse Agent can help minimize the build-up of detergent and hard water minerals on your dishes and on the interior of the dishwasher. For more information, see: Dishwasher Proper Selection and Use of Rinse Agents.
Detergent Residue:
Dishwasher detergents can leave a white film or residue on glassware, dishes, or even the dishwasher tub itself. Soap residue can cause the wheels or rack slides to start to stick so that they don't roll properly.
Use high quality detergents such as Cascade® Platinum™ ActionPacs™ or Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent.
Dishwasher - White Film on Glassware, Dishware and the Interior:
If your racks are sticking or not pulling out, before considering service, try cleaning the interior of the dishwasher with one of these methods:
- Dishwasher Cleaner - Use a high quality dishwasher cleaner, such as Cascade® Platinum™ Dishwasher Cleaner or Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner - Citric Acid - Follow the instructions below (can be purchased at the local supermarket) - Pour the citric acid in the detergent cup and close the cover. - Place the filmed, but otherwise clean, glassware and dishware in the dishwasher. Leave silverware and other metal items out of the dishwasher. - Turn the dishwasher on and let it run through a complete cycle without detergent. The glassware, dishware and dishwasher should come out film free and sparkly. - Vinegar Rinse - Pour 1 cup of vinegar into the dishwasher just after the detergent cup opens and let the dishwasher complete its cycle. This may be repeated several times a year if needed.
Note: If the upper rack is sticking, try pulling rack out from the center, not the side. Pulling the rack out from the side may cause the rack to bind in the slide mechanism. If you continue to experience this issue, we recommend scheduling a service appointment with our factory service team. You can schedule an appointment by calling the service department directly at 1-800-432-2737, or by scheduling online at the following link: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.ht

This is the cheapest dishwasher I have ever seen! The inside is all plastic and the bottom tray keeps going off the track.
