You cannot lock the dishwasher to keep child out of controls as it states, difficult to start

Thanks for your review. We'd be happy to help clear things up for you. Sorry to hear that you've had issues with your unit.
Based on page 6 of your Use and Care manual, which you can take a look at here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000239.pdf - we're seeing that you would need to press and hold the Select Cycle button for 3 seconds to lock the controls. The Lock Controls light, or on some models the Light and Rinse cycle lights will turn on to indicate the control is locked and will turn off to indicate the control is unlocked.
If you're finding that your unit is not starting but has lights and sound, take a look at the following article to see if it helps: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17397
If none of these tips help, and you're still having issues, we'd recommend reaching out to our service team for further help. They can be found here: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

This is a really small basic and cheap dishwasher. It leaves dishes wet and is SuPER noisy---it was chosen by the builder and I hate it!

Doesn't dry dishes

The 1 hour functions doesn't dry any of the dishes, everything comes out wet. The Dry Boost function takes over 2 hours, the dishes are more dry but some still are wet. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
