Hello,
We’re sorry to hear that you’ve been less than impressed with your new dishwasher. We understand that a loud appliance, constant odor, and a plastic door can be frustrating. We appreciate your feedback and take it seriously, as we are constantly looking for ways to improve our products. We recommend taking a look at the article below for some tips on eliminating smells often associated with dishwashers.
Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. Please know we are here should you need any assistance. -MichaelB@GEA
This was the dishwasher that our builders placed in our new home without our input. We have had it for almost 2 years now and I have a lot of experience with it at this point. The soap door opens once out of 20 washes. I tried to have the builders replace it but they deferred to GE. I have called GE customer service who recommended I put fewer dishes/bowls on the bottom rack. Despite only putting a few plates on the bottom rack every wash, the soap dispenser door still did not open. GE customer service also recommended adding a rinse aid as there was a silky/soapy residue on my dishes 1 out of 10 rinses requiring an additional "rinse" cycle using more water. I use the rinse aid but the door still does not open. The rinse aid is full between washes and I only have to fill it again once a month which I am not sure is doing anything at all. I have been very disappointed with this dishwasher.

Hello there! Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are so sorry to hear that this dishwasher did not live up to your expectations. We definitely understand the disappointment and inconvenience this has caused. There is considerable thought and effort devoted to the design of our products. Factors in design decisions are cost, competition, changing technology, and appearance. While we understand your dissatisfaction with this dishwasher, we cannot modify or replace your appliance. We will be sending this feedback to our product design teams for improvement on future models. We appreciate you choosing GE Appliances for your home! - Adrian@GEA
Great dishwasher. Just wish it was a little bit bigger so I don’t have to run it constantly. It came with my new construction home though. Maybe eventually I will upgrade. Works well though.
Feels like going to break. Materials are light weight. Door does not close well. Very noist. Dishes do not sit well in the washer and the soap try does not open if dish in in front of it. Would not buy this product

Hi, We're always looking for ways to improve, and we appreciate your comments on this dishwasher. Having dishes in front of the detergent cup will prevent it from opening during a wash cycle. We think these tips on loading your dishes would be helpful in avoiding this. You can see them on page 11 of the Use and Care manual. Here's a link:
The dishwasher is loud and cheap. I called GE because I thought it was not insulated and they said it was not needed because it was built to be quiet. I do not recommend this dishwasher if you want a quiet one. I have had GE appliances in the past and they were great. I do not recommend. These came with a new house so I did not have a choice in appliances; otherwise, I would not have picked it.

Hello,
We’re sorry to hear that you’ve been less than impressed with your new dishwasher and that it’s been louder than you expected. Dirty dishes are a big part of everyday life, and having your dishwasher make a lot of noise can be frustrating. This is not something we want or expect from our products. We take your feedback seriously and will work hard going forward to ensure that our dishwashers are as quiet as possible. We also recommend taking a look at the article below for a list of normal and abnormal noises you may hear from your dishwasher.
Dishes come out clean, only issue is that I have to restart machine halfway through cycle because it does not complete by itself

Hi,
Congratulations on your new dishwasher and thank you so much for choosing GE Appliances! We're glad to hear that the unit is cleaning your dishes well, but so sorry to hear you seem to be having trouble with the cycle not completing on it's own. We're happy to help and provide clarity on this.
It is normal for many dishwashers to start and stop several times while draining. This helps pump out food soils more effectively. If your dishwasher pauses briefly or seems to start and stop during the draining period, this is normal operation. If you feel that this is not the case with your unit, please take full advantage of your warranty and schedule a service appointment. You can schedule an appointment with a GE Appliances technician by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
We truly appreciate you and we're here when you need us. Have a great day. - Tierra@GEA
