Response from geappliances.comBy Vikki@GEAGE_AppliancesMarch 15, 2021
Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. We do appreciate your feedback.
Good wash and dry performance are dependent on the water temperature coming into the dishwasher. The incoming water temperature should be a minimum of 120 degrees and no greater than 150 degrees F.

The water temperature can be checked with a candy or meat thermometer by turning on the faucet nearest the dishwasher. Place the thermometer in a glass and let the water run into the glass until the temperature stops rising. Please make any needed adjustments to the temperature control on your water heater.

Wash Heat Boost and Dry Boost options are made available for you to use based on your needs. If you have heavier or dried on soils, the wash heat boost option should be used to help ensure the dishes get clean. If your load includes several plastic items we would recommend using the Dry Boost option to aid in drying.

Again, we appreciate your feedback and will be happy to share your comments with our dishwasher design team. All our best! Vikki

Does a good job when it works

The thing on the door will not engage the thing on the frame so it will not run! Called customer service and the soonest they could get here is one week. This is a brand new machine in a brand new condo. Also the microwave is making weird noises. I’ll mention it to service when he gets here next week.

Hi, there! We're so glad your dishwasher is doing a good job of cleaning. Here is a great link to check out that describes normal dishwasher noises: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16269

The plastic tub smell is normal and the smell dissipates during normal use.During initial use you may smell the tub material, chlorine bleach in detergent, or the smell of rinse aid. You can also try running the empty dishwasher through several cycles using detergent to see if that helps.

We're glad to have you in the GE Appliances family! - Sharon@GEA
