In the first 24 hours of running our air purifiers, my husband's allergy symptoms stopped! The dust was cut down to less than half of what it was before; one duster to dust the whole main floor instead of 2 1/2.

Great performance and efficacy

I have two sizes of the Dust Magnet purifiers (small and medium) but if I've already written a product review it was likely for the first one I got, which is the smaller version of this model. I've now had this model for a year so that's adequate time to share how it performs. Overall, no major complaints and nearly everything about it has performed easily and effectively. Since I have two Dust Magnets in separate room it allows me to compare how dirty the filters get. The smaller of the two I have in my bedroom. And then this medium purifier is in my apartment's living room, which is much dirtier because I live with a messy person who doesn't help me clean. (I also stay out of the living room for this reason!) I just changed the filters in the living room purifier and all I can say is: GROSS. It definitely reflects how much dustier that room is compared to my clean bedroom. Pretty significant coating of grey dust on them. I changed these filters when the app showed them at 17% filter life remaining, but going forward I'll probably change them sooner! I find the air quality sensor to be wonderfully responsive and what I feel to be accurate. The purifiers revv up when I've used a hair dryer, when I've used an aerosol like hair spray, when I've been on my treadmill for awhile, and when I've been cooking and measuring powdery ingredients. My kitchen is pretty open to the living room, but the air purifier I have out there is about 5 feet away from the kitchen entryway and then about another 4 feet away and around a corner from where I'd be standing while cooking. So basically I feel that's a great demonstration of how well the purifiers can detect fine particulates. It also shows me how quickly that kind of stuff travels through the air! Also, one of the main reasons I bought these purifiers is to hopefully help prevent spread of any airborne illnesses that may come into my apartment, but I can't speak as to how they work for that purpose since that would require testing beyond my capabilities. But there's powerful airflow from the purifiers that I can feel from a significant distance away, and obviously they collect a lot of dust.
The only gripe I have with these purifiers is one that other people have mentioned, and that is issues with connectivity to wifi or the app. When I initially set up the purifiers I didn't really have a problem with them connecting to wifi and Bluetooth, but after changing the filters on both the experience is a bit different. I've found it tricky to reset the filter reader to reflect the filter life of the new filters, and then somehow that messes with the wifi connection. Just now with this particular purifier I had to turn it off and unplug it twice, then ended up deleting it from the app and adding it back to the section that shows all your purifiers. I finally got it connected again but having to do things this way is just a little frustrating and it also erases all your air quality information from the past. I have other devices with wifi and Bluetooth that connect way easier so I'm not sure why this is an issue for these purifiers. And as for the app I like its features and functions. I have no issues with controlling the air purifiers from a room away and through a closed door. So again, overall I think these Dust Magnets are great quality for the price and there's good reason for why I bought a second one!

Doesn’t disappoint

Bought this for my family due to allergies. Also we have multiple pets and you can really tell the air is clean as you walk in the house. When cooking, sometimes the smell lingers in the house and can tell only if you left and cone back a few hours and smell still there, the Dust Magnet really cleans the air really well. I have it for 4 years now and still works perfectly with no issues.

Saved our lungs!

Quiet and stylish air purifier. Love that it doubles as furniture as well. Bought two for myself, plus more for my family. The air quality monitor on the app also saved my health! I was using ultrasonic humidifiers with non-distilled water (which I now know is bad), which was blasting white dust all over my bedroom. The air purifier caught it (pm2.5 was >1000) and we were able to figure out it was from the humidifier. Can't recommend this enough!

Noticeable difference in air quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To start with I have to say how skeptical I was about this thing. I have 4 cats, two dogs, and a husband that drags in dust, dirt, and anything else you can imagine from the outside world. My Roomba is overworked and my broom went on strike, if that gives ya any idea of what I mean. I never had allergies until I moved to the south and ever since I had Covid I have seemed to acquire a hyper sensitivity to allergens and dust. Throw in a bunch of fur critters and it’s a recipe for respiratory disaster. Well, machine has been a life saver. I pulled it out of the box and attached the legs pretty easily then started reading the instructions. As soon as I got to the part “Download the APP…. “ I sort of rolled my eyes and said .. “Another app? UGGGHHH”. So I put down the instructions and started just using the air cleaner manually. It was pretty easy to figure out and I ran it for a day or two and I started noticing a difference in how I was breathing. No miracle cure by any means, but my eyes weren’t as itchy and I didn’t have the the same itchy throat thing going on like before. By the weekend, it was time to dust since I live out in the sticks and there is dust everywhere! I usually don’t dust often but I figured I’d see what this thing could really do. I wiped every horizontal surface I could get my hands and cloth on. Everyone knows that when you dust surfaces, most of the dust particles escape back into the air to land somewhere else usually within a day or two. I did notice that the dust in my house seems to be less than before. Not to say more won’t find its way in but it seems this thing really pulls in some air especially when turned way up. I finally decided to get the app and connect it. I was able to download and connect pretty easily. In the app you schedule times and speeds etc . Easy to navigate and set things up without too much hassle. I’m really glad I have this thing. I’m thinking about getting one more for my bedroom.

Very Good Air Purifier!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good one! The fan noise is perfect to leave on as slight white noise as we sleep. It’s allergy season now and having something that cleans the air is a must. The design is much more stylish than others we considered.
One thing to note is that the air is expelled in 2 opposite directions, both out of the side of the unit - which is fine for us. If you’re looking for a unit that sends the air upward, this isn’t the one to get. But you can use this as a little end table- just be aware that this thing can send a decent air current - so it’s basically a fan blowing in opposite directions.

Breathing Easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have really bad allergies. If there's dust or too much pet hair I will have the sniffles. The DustMagnet 5440i has really helped improve the air quality in my home. I can tell the difference between when I run the DustMagnet and when I don't have it plugged in. I find myself reaching for tissues much more often when the DustMagnet is not running. I also like that I can use it as a tabletop too. So I have it sitting next to my desk where I can place my purse or a file that I am working on. The contemporary look blends in nicely with my living room/office area decore. Plus it's quiet. I don't even notice it anymore when it's running.
