Precise, elegant, powerful

responsive, exceptionally agile. can work with the smallest pots, high-heat wok cooking, long-slow simmering. I have cooked on this for several months. Particularly impressive features include: quick searing, bridging burners, slow heating, precision. Having cooked on gas, electric, and other induction cooktops I insist this is the very best on the market. A few examples from extensive testing: can bring milk to a gentle scalding temperature to make yogurt without overboiling. can sear fish and steak precisely without overcooking. can make bialetti or arabic-style coffee with their tiny pots and heat needs, can handle the high heat of stir fry and the low heat of a braise, will bring a 12 gallon stockpot to boil in minutes and keep it at a steady simmer for as long as you need to hold the temperature. Great for canning, pancakes. Easy to clean. only very rarely makes a buzzing or vibrating sound with certain pans. I have used other induction cooktops that were constantly humming. this is almost perfectly silent. We selected this after months of research because of the power boost, ability to bridge burners, the smart zone, and sensitivity to the smallest pots. Yes I would recommend this cooktop. I am a serious home cook and I am telling you that this is the best investment you can make for your kitchen. Totally worth it and much less expensive than the very few competitor models on the market with the same features. Functions are impressive. And as a bonus: it is absolutely beautiful.

Sadly, this has not worked correctly since installation. Once installed (professionally), only two burners functioned. We have had it serviced numerous times since then. Totally non functional now. Living in a new home without a cooktop! The service people have been trying to get it fixed but F&P has been unhelpful and unresponsive. Service people keep trying to find solutions but the cooktop needs replacement now. We have loved other F&P appliances but this is disgusting. We paid a premium price and have a non working appliance. Complete waste of money. I could not more strongly warn consumers to avoid this appliance. Spend your money on actually reliable appliances.
