Wish I never bought this washer/dryer combo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this back in July, though the washing machine works fine I have had this ongoing issue with their vent in the back of the dryer. It turns black and than that rubs off and is ruining clothes, sheets, towels exc. I have had a repairman from PC Richard where I purchased it and Electrolux. Both times I was told I’m melting my clothes or that Its the size stickers that come on new clothing. It is neither and I’m treated like I don’t know how to do laundry. Speaking to representatives on the phone I believe it’s anyvresudue from detergent or softener left on the clothes and when the vent heats up and the wet clothes rub over it that is what is melting. But it doesn’t seem to matter and now I am stuck with a dryer that I can’t even use for fear of ruining more clothes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

In some cases, drying a small load on high heat may cause some scorching of your clothes.
Do you use fabric softener sheets? Occasionally a waxy build-up may form on the lint filter or dryer vent.

great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not happy with the performance of the dryer. My bathroom rugs get caught in the front of the dryer and the rubber backing tears.

We do recommend not drying articles containing rubber, plastic or similar materials such as bras, galoshes, bath mats, rugs, bibs, baby pants, plastic bags and pillows that may melt or burn. Some rubber materials, when heated, can under certain circumstances produce fire by spontaneous combustion. For more important safety instructions, please review page 4 of your dryer’s “Use & Care” guide.

Poor filter design

We stayed at a friend's house that had an electrolux washer and dryer that were amazing. They were several years old so when I wanted the same we had to purchase the current version. They were both a disappointment but the worse was the dryer. The product design department created what they call a clam lint filter. The way it is designed it has vents that lies flat at the bottom of the dryer door. If you have a light load of anything, articles of clothing gather on top of the filter vents and stay there. The dryer runs for what seems like forever and when it does stop, the clothes are still damp from the suctioned clothes blocking the vents. It is a poor design and needs to be fixed. What they need to do is design a filter whose top is angled so that the clothes cannot get sucked onto and lodged on top of the lint filter vents. I would buy it in a heartbeat. Instead I will have to take a loss on this set and sell them. I cannot stand vigil on my dryer. It really is upsetting. I will never buy elctrolux again if they do not fix this filter soon.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this six months ago and the lint shield clip got hooked on a piece of my clothing, got pulled out and went for a tumble. Now the clip is broken and the lint guard is cracked and catches on everything. Trying to find a replacement is impossible!! I've wrecked so many clothes I am no longer using my dryer.

My laundry keeps getting stuck in the dryer!

I bought this dryer 2 years ago and loved it. We just moved and refinished a home and I insisted on having this machine again, the new model of course. Things keep getting stuck in the dryer. There are three "beams" that move the clothes around, two short and 1 long! The long one leaves only a sliver of space between the sides where my bedding and clothes are getting caught. I have been in my house for 3 weeks and have had multiple issues with the dryer. I'm so disappointed. My dryer is not broken and I have to wait 4 days for a repair person to come to the house and I have three little lads. This is definitely a design flaw. It has to be corrected.

Easy to Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to Use! I was intimidated by the thought of using a new machine but was pleasantly surprised how easy and fun it was to use. The lint filter is much better than any previous machine I have owned. It is beautifully designed and looks great. and of course it dries my clothes with a minimum of effort. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new dryer at a reasonable cost.
