We used to buy cheap BBQ's figuring it wasn't worth getting something better but these are a lot of trouble and only last about a year before you get fed up with the problems and buy a new cheap replacement. Then over 10 years ago we decided to take a new approach and bought this portable Weber which was a bit more expensive but it's still working like new and starts every time. It has heavy cast iron grates that really sear steaks and burgers and a removable drip tray to catch runoff so it doesn't sit in the bottom or leak all over. Those cast iron grates will rust eventually and we replaced them this year with new ones from Weber and it's like a brand new unit - that's the only maintenance we had to do on it apart from a Spring cleaning. Actually after 10 years it's cheaper to buy something of quality, and the bonus is you only have to put it together once! This is big enough for most families but if you entertain a lot get a bigger Weber.

Worst bbq ever

It is surprising to me that anyone would give a good review for this bbq. We’ve owned ours for less than a year and we will be replacing it. The grates do provide nice grill marks but also accumulate an intense amount of grease and grit. It seems we have to do a deep clean after each use. There is so much grease build up on the elements now that it barely works. This is a flawed design, don’t buy it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Weber is the best
