I purchased my new grill about a month ago and love the design, the smooth startup, the fast cooking, and even the temperature gauge on the front. My only "complaint" (and why I did not give it 5 stars) is that installing/changing out the gas tank is very awkward and somewhat difficult. For such a great looking grill, so surprised that something more clever/easy wasn't designed for the tank. Something like a slide-out/pivoting base where you could swap the tanks while not underneath the grill would be a nice feature (but you would also need a longer hose connection), then just slide it back into place. Just a thought...
I have had this grill for a minth or so now and I am extremely pleased with this grill! It was a breeze to assemble, is so easy to maintain, and fun to use. I really think its a great design, is very versatile, and makes great tasting food. It turns out I am also really enjoying the non conventional look of the grill.
This grill is very similar to previous versions of this model. I have owned several of these grills over the past about 15 years. The simple construction makes it relatively easy to clean and maintain. There is one exception though. Several years ago Weber integrated a light built into the handle of the lid. In the past, this handle attached via a bracket clamped down by the handle screws. This most recent version, the light is attached directly To the handle. So when you open the lid, unless you use just a couple fingers, your grasp will touch where the light is clamped on. This is uncomfortable for two reasons. First, I’d rather grasp the smooth surface of the handle without touching the clamps of the light. Second, the clamps of the light get hot and are not pleasant to touch because of their temperature. This change in my opinion is a step backwards. The old design was better. Plus, the newly designed light, once turned on cannot be turned off. It will stay on for some specified duration before turning off by itself, presumably so you don’t have to remember to turn it off yourself. I think this game s a waste of technology and battery. I’d rather turn it on and off by myself.
Perfect grill for a family or a big cookout. We have used one before and we really like it’s convenience and how easy it is. This grill will last for many years to come. We made chicken last night and it worked great and tasted amazing! I love Weber because you can replace any parts without having to buy a whole new grill…that’s the Weber difference and what sets them apart!
I had the 2000 series Weber q grill for about 8 years and loved it, recently decided to upgrade and love it even more. Great grill, gets very hot very quickly.
