The knobs are cheap plastic and two have broken in 6 months. It’s great I go replacements but still gonna break due to a lower quality material. Heating is uneven and I am yet to get the infrared burner to light

Great Grill with mediocre rotisserie

I have had my S-470 for about a year and love the even heating and especially the smoker and sear station, which I feared would be a "gimmick" but have turned out to be two features I use all the time. The smoker in particular provides just enough heat and smoke to make the best pulled pork ever! The one thing about this grill that is substandard is the rotisserie element, the motor is held to the grill using cheap, thin stainless steel, so if you grill a bird larger than about 12 pounds, the rod can come off as the motor flexes during the rotation. I have had to develop a fix using clamps to hold the rod onto the grill motor. When you pay almost $2K for a grill, you don't expect to have to "McGiver" some sort of fix to overcome poor design. But the rest of the grill system works great.

Poor Quality

I purchase this grill thinking the spending the higher price will provide me a grilled for many years, but after 3 years I can see Stainless is rusty in front doors on the bottom. The gas knobs are poorly manufactured, 2 of the igniters are not working and been cleaned several times. I am very disappointed in Webber I thought this brand was one of the top of the line.

Hello! We are sorry to hear you are having some trouble with your grill. Depending on your location, additional maintenance will be needed to keep up the appearance of the exterior steel parts. Below are a couple helpful tips.
1. At the first sign of staining/discoloration/surface rust we would recommend cleaning with stainless steel cleaner. Once cleaned, we recommend using a stainless steel polish (ex. Weber's brand) to keep it looking its best in-between cleanings. 2. Once a week we would recommend wiping down the grill with a wet towel or rag and then drying completely. 3. We would only recommend covering your grill if you know inclement weather is coming. 4. The quicker you get at a stain the easier it will be to clean off.

I just bought another Weber 470 grill but this time for propane instead of natural gas because I had moved to an area without natural gas. There was no doubt in m mind with regard to buying another Weber grill. The quality is there and parts should you need to replace anything such as grill grids flavor bars are readily available. Absolutely love the searing burners for perfect grill marks on my steaks and pork chops.The smoker box is awesome especially with its own burner and the rotisserie works great for grilling chickens and pork loins. Great grill - will never own any other.

Quality, heating capacity, features

This my second season with my Weber Summit. I use it at least three times a week year round. I live in Montana so a lot of my grilling is in snow and cold. This unit has enough btu's to grill in freezing temperatures. I absolutely love it. My friends have grill envy.

I have been a loyal weber grill customer for 40 years. I purchased a new s-400 series natural gas grill in 2016. its been 7 years and it is just falling apart. The first ss lid developed rust spots in the 2nd year and weber replaced it. The SS flavorizer bars are rusting out and need to be replaced. The IR burner which I have only used once will not light. The poorly engineered hidden rotisserie motor mount is so flimsy that the spit pops out of the motor during cooking. The grill itself has very uneven heat distribution. all the metal parts on the inside of the grill are rising out and to add insult to injury any grill bought prior to 2017 is not covered under the 10yr warrantee. Also this grill is on my deck and always covered with a weber cover 3rd one in 7 years as the don't hold up either.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
