Brews much faster than previous 12 cup like models. For best results: Do not use more than 2/3 cup of grown coffee for excellent Quality of the brew. The K-cup is awesome! Like previous like models, adding the water from this model’s carafe into the brew a pot water chamber is still awkward but the quality and results out performed this issue.
K-cup heats up and brews quickly. The carafe heater works good and keeps the coffee hot. Only negatives are no backlight on LCD and there is no sight glass on the k-cup water tank to see the level.
Unit works as expected and my wife loves the ability to change pod cup size. I like that the unit works faster and quieter than the keureg it replaced. Only issue is difficult to see water level when adding, possibly a clear reservoir may be an option.
For the most part, this is a pretty good coffee maker. My only negatives would be the water reservoir location. It is difficult to add water without spilling it into the coffee grounds. Also, the auto timer is not user friendly. I don’t need to see all those lights lit all night long.
My old machine died so I bought this since it had the capacity for both carafes and cups. I had it less than a week before it exploded a pod and started smoking. I checked the pod and it's pierced top and bottom, so no idea why this happened.
