[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this for federal government logon for VA Travel pay only. But, surprisingly it worked for a video conference with one of the VA doctors too. Saved us a trip into Boston. Our Apple iPad won't work for this. Definitely coming in handy.

Being a senior I have assignments that need to get done fast and this laptop is amazing for that. I would definitely recommend for a friend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using computers since 1982, and have learned that HP computers are the most reliable and long lasting, thus the best value. (I still have an HP in use that's over 12 years old with an i5 Intel chip that is still running strong.)
This computer, which I purchased new was upgraded by the retailer with a 1TB Solid State Drive. With the new SSD and 8GB of DRAM, the computer is lightning fast and runs cool (the SSD uses far less battery power than the original hard drive, which is now encased as an external back-up drive. I don't detect any real difference in speed between an Intel Pentium Gold and a Core i3 chip.
The only thing that I miss is a back-lighted keyboard, which would have been very helpful as the keyboard numbers are elegant, but fine-lined, making the keyboard difficult to read n low light.
My computer is Crimson Red, which is a real plus. (I hate black computers, which have been sat on, overlooked when packing early in the morning, and left in planes and restaurants because black is often hard to see -- I've learned my lesson to avoid dreary black laptops).
This computer also has an ether-net port, which is also a plus to ensure a hard-line connection for the many Zoom meetings, although the wireless works very well, too.
The sound is good, the touch pad is perfect, and I appreciate the right and left buttons being separate from the touch pad, making choices more precise..
