Weird Extended Door Tops and other issues

GE Refrigerator Model # PZS22MYKFS was delivered and installed yesterday. Item 1 below is a major concern.
1. I am very unhappy with the extra height on the top of the doors. The refrigerator door cutout looks weird from the side. And, the view of the refrigerator from the front hides the bottom of my beautiful Tuscan Cabinets.
The new model design is a "POOR" updated version of my prior GE Profile Refrigerator Model # PSC23NSTSS.
2. Refrigerator bins are difficult to remove and clean, even with door fully open.
3. Ice Bin is difficult to use and clean.
4. Slight water drips after water dispenser is used.
5. Dark Charcoal Grey Case is ok; but, I prefer a Black Case.
6. The door handles are sleek and ok; but, I really liked the rounded door handles.

Much better than my first one - love it

This is my second GE Profile side-by-side refrigerator. I purchased the first one in 2002 when our house was built so it lasted 19 years. The only thing wrong with the old one was that the icemaker broke. So we decided to purchase a new refrigerator. I wanted another side-by-side. I don't like that French door style due to the space that the icemaker takes up in the refrigerator compartment and the fact that frozen food is piled on top of itself, making it hard to find things. There are only two of us so I don't need a huge refrigerator. I looked at Kitchen Aid and GE. I decided on the GE again because the refrigerator shelves were adjustable and it fit better into the space. I have to say that while the design is very similar to the old one, GE has corrected and improved some of the shortcomings of the old design. Since there are LED lights, the top shelf is much more open and can hold many more large bottles. The bins all slide much easier and hold more, especially the produce and the meat bin. The freezer is much easier to organize with the two pullout bins. The outside is fingerprint proof which is a big plus. The overall appearance is much more contemporary and since this is counter depth, it looks built-in. It does make a noise that my other one didn't make. However, this is a plus. After dispensing ice, there is a motor that closes the flap to keep the freezer sealed. This was a problem with my old one as it aged.
There are several things that could have been better. I don't understand why there is a large, sealed catch area under the cover on the dispenser area. There are no holes in the cover so water just sits on it. I removed the cover and placed a custom fitted sponge in the base. This absorbs drips and dries quickly. The icemaker bin with the auger is exactly the same as my old one. Over 19 years, I have replaced that auger at least four times. GE should have improved that design. The auger is made of plastic and over time it cracks. Pieces of the auger come out when dispensing ice. Finally, I don't like the shelf that has the front that slides back to supposedly place tall items. GE should just do away with that. I takes up more space and doesn't really provide any benefit. I kept the solid shelves from my previous GE and they fit. So I removed that front slide shelf and replaced it with one of the regular shelves. My husband would have liked the dispense area to be taller so his water bottle fit better but he is able to fill it without issue.
Some previous reviews that I read talked about it being loud. I don't find that to be the case. It runs pretty quiet.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I just hope it lasts at least 19 years!

Water dispenser flow is slowwwwww

It’s good to have a water dispenser that dispenses clean water without splashing water into your face just like our old Samsung refrigerator. So I am glad when I tried this water dispenser from this refrigerator because it dispenses water gently. But after a few tries I found out it’s too gentle where it takes five minutes just to fill up the water Reservoir of my Keurig coffee machine. I think this is a manufacturing defect. We’ll soon find out.

Design Observations

There are three design related items we observed:
> The 'ice' bin's 'high' location and 'loaded' weight are uncomfortable for seniors. Removal of the bin, to empty it, is problematic.
> The opening of the external dispenser is somewhat restrictive. It would have been helpful if the opening would accommodate a taller container (~ 1").
> The storage space, available in the Freezer side, is somewhat restrictive. The available space could be better utilized.

Had a whole set of ge profile appliances for 6 years. Microwave has been repaired multiple times. Fridge broke after only 6 years and would cost more to repair so what do you do. In order to keep family of appliances reordered new fridge to match. It doesn’t. Setup is completely different with new fridge and honestly not for the better. Top shelf has less space due to new water filter setup and a huge tunnel running across top. Unit is also smaller in height by about 2” to 3” which also makes a difference in space. No beverage center available anymore. Freezer definitely different with ice storage again not for the better. Handles don’t match old version(s). To top everything off not as many options on digital screen with cups of water etc…. Paying more for less. Only hope I have is it lasts longer then the last one but only time will tell. Probably should have replaced everything with a different brand
