Problem with ice maker

My fridge is 13 months old in a summer home where it's probably only been used on a regular basis for half that time. I have the water and ice in the door feature. The ice bin fills with so much ice that when you press for crushed or cubed it gets stuck and doesn't work at all. Cubes seem to get jammed in the feeder even after I manually empty ice from the bin to allow for more movement. I have a nearly 30-year-old GE refrigerator at home and its ice maker works better. I think the plastic part that is supposed to move the ice is cheap (the older fridge has a metal, stronger mechanism) or there must be some flaw in the mechanism/set up. This is a *really* disappointing feature. If you have any suggestions on how to better maintain the ice so that the dispenser in the door works I would appreciate it. I feel like I paid extra for it and now it's a total waste of money (not to mention freezer space!) I'm very unhappy and frustrated!!

Great Refrigerator

Been using the profile for about 3 months. Great look. Like the way the water/ice dispenser blends with the stainless steel front. It looks like it is stainless steel. The refrigerator we replaced, which cost 3 times more and had problems from the beginning, had a black water/ice dispenser and it didn't look as good on the stainless steel. I love it that the water dispenser doesn't drip! yey! It is well lit both inside and the water/ice dispenser and the lights are very bright. Because the reviews said the Profile rolled forward when the doors are opened, we put little clear plastic discs under the front wheels and it doesn't roll at all. I don't think it would even if we didn't use the discs.

We have had this fridge for about 2 months and so far there have not been any problems. It seems to keep things colder than the GE side by side that it replaced. The refrigerator compartment is a bit smaller than our previous model but the freezer side seems to be a bit larger and the storage layout is better. Our previous GE had the liquid measurement display feature with the water dispenser. We really miss this feature on this new model. Otherwise, we are happy with this model so far.
