[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A beautiful machine! Crushes GIS work no problem, I bet it will handle Civil 3D just fine. Chose this over the P17 for its lighter weight. Seems to outpace my Dell Precision 7000.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great all-around laptop with plenty of power for all but the most demanding games/CAD. Fairly heavy, though, probably not perfect for the road warrior.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had very high hopes for the ThinkPad T15g I purchased that came with a 2080 Super Max-Q, 32g's of ram, and a 1T SSD. It hasn't let me down on being to multi-task, however I paid a little $2000 for it in hopes that it would at least be able to run games (some non-AAA) at least at 45+ fps, or even 30+fps. It has yet to amuse me with it's capability to run games.
For the price point and knowledge that Nvidia is coming out with 3060 mobile graphics cards to laptops in roughly 6 months, I would've rather waited for a better graphics card or purchased a different computer at his price point.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is crazily fast and feel solid like a rock. The weight is a little heavier compare to other laptop but that probably a good thing as it feel durable. The designed was amazing and doesn't feel big eventhough it provide a 15plus inch screen size. It runs super quiet and i can barely feel the heat. Love it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The laptop has so far performed well. There was a necessary software issue update upon receipt of the laptop to fix a screen glitch. The customer support team was responsive and knowledgeable in resolving the issue and the machine has run well since.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The built quality of this laptop is top notch. It is heavy but you have a good laptop with great keyboard, screen. The laptop run a little hot (6 cores) but if you use a laptop cooling pad, it will be in 40s Celsius degrees. For the 8 cores, you must expect it run very hot (I got one but returned it, usually at 60-65 Celsius degree (I think my unit was a faulty one, but for your information))
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Thinkpad T15g is an acceptable addition to this series of laptops, providing a healthy selection of hardware options for productivity and leisure.
With only 2 standard USB 3.0 ports, one on each side, and three usb-c ports on the back, a docking station or external usb hub is a must for the power user with multiple usb gadgets.
While the oddly soft coating applied to the plastic chassis does give the plastic a different feel, I'm not entirely happy with the coating as it picks up and shows skin oils far to easily and I get the feeling that in a couple years it's going to deteriorate and require removal. However, the basic design is a direct descendant of prior models of thinkpad, a design that tends to be rock solid and dependable.
There may be some thermal concerns during extended and intensive use of the graphics card, additional cooling solutions might be recommended.
Despite minor annoyances and pain-points, overall, I'm quite satisfied with the performance and usability of this product.
