Great but with some tradeoffs

Verified Purchase:Yes
I have had bags from LowePro, Clik Elite, Thinktank, etc... I have yet to find the perfect camera bag because there are always so many tradeoffs. And unfortunately, despite being a great back, the Peak Design EDB is no exception.
What I Like.
The bag is relatively functional without looking like a camera bag. It's hip and stylish, and has some great accessibility features like dual side zips, quick release top entry, and a laptop sleeve. The strap system can be used in a lot of different ways, and the side pockets can accommodate jackets, water bottles, and a Peak Design tripod. The dual zips make it easy to access gear while having the bag over one shoulder. Also, while it might seem expensive on the surface, this is a lot cheaper than similar models from Think Tank. The shoulder straps are ok, but not great. The way they stay flat with a magnet is very innovative and surprisingly convenient.
What I don't like:
The first thing I don't like is how much wasted space the shelf system creates. It trades efficient storage for efficient access. If you have a log of gear that needs to be carried (i.e multiple bodies, lenses, and lights,) this might not be the bag for you. The big downside is lack of pockets for small gear. There is no real storage for batteries, cables, cards, etc. I suppose this is to get you to buy an accessory pouch, but that isn't ideal. It also would be hard to use a full size tripod with this bag.
Overall, I think this is a really good bag, but it doesn't check enough boxes to be perfect. I think it's best for people that travel with a relatively small amount of gear. Think five or six pieces of body/lens/flash. That is probably more than the average person travels with, but less than the typical pro uses.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Having bought this a couple weeks ago, I was heavily indecisive between this pack and the WANDRD Prvke backpack. I decided to pick this one with the promises of high quality and detail. It did not disappoint, there is no doubt that the detail and quality in the materials chosen and the intricate details of the backpack truly make the pack stand out. I found it admirable that Peak is pushing the market in a different direction, I found the shelves to be a really interesting new way to use a backpack, approaching it from 3 directions as opposed to the primitive top sack opening. I also appreciated the magnetic touches on this pack, the mag latch and the little pocket locks are a really nice addition that is lacking in many techpacks these days.
I did however find some capabilities to be lacking of this pack, I felt that it was not the most intuitive camera carry, however its modularity allowed it to delve a little bit into photography gear carry, but enough to be able to be used for other cases. I did find my lenses to be too small and not secure in the shelves, sometimes my gear would slip down from the shelf to shelf too.
I think the straps need more love, I've seen plenty of reviews saying it isn't the best, and its integration with the capture clip could use some more love as well. I typically use most of the back day to day and the strap often leaves me a little sore.

I wanted to love it but i can’t

I tried PD everyday backpack 20l through nok tryouts. I wanted to love it. All this time I had older generation bigger backpack and never reached for it except for longer trips when I had to bring camera with me. I kept thinking if only I get a smaller bag then I’ll be able to use it as an everyday backpack. My kids are out of diapers so I don’t need a diaper bag per se but need it to be a bag that provides easy access. Unfortunately peak design fell short. Getting anything in and out of it is an ordeal unless it is in the very top pocket under the flap. I struggled so much during my few days taking kids around town. I will not be purchasing it.
The quality is great but the bag isn’t an everyday backpack it claims to be.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just purchased the Everyday Sling 10L (V2) to use it for work. I was able to use it for about 2 weeks before my office closed because of the coronavirus pandemic. During that time i felt it was a little too small for my liking. my 13inch macbook pro (2010) didn't fit well. It was a struggle to put it inside the laptop pocket. Plus if i decide to bring my dslr camera and an extra lense it would probably a very tight fit or not fit at all. Don't get me wrong this sling looks and feels very well made. The materials used are top notch. Anyway, i guess i'll just continue to search for my edc work bag but still keep this to use for non work stuff. Stay safe and healthy! Thank you! Cheers!

The Peak Design Everyday Backpack 30L is a highly versatile, stylish, and functional bag designed for photographers, travelers, and daily commuters. Packed with thoughtful features and superior build quality, it excels in both form and function.
Design and Build Quality
The backpack stands out with its modern, minimalist aesthetic and premium materials. It’s constructed from weatherproof 400D nylon canvas with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating, ensuring your gear stays safe even in challenging weather. The robust hardware, including durable zippers and magnetic latch closures, adds to its premium feel.
Storage and Organization
The 30L capacity is spacious and ideal for carrying a variety of gear, from camera equipment to everyday essentials. Key features include:
Customizable Dividers: The backpack includes origami-inspired FlexFold dividers, allowing you to organize your belongings efficiently. These are particularly useful for photographers who need to protect and separate camera bodies, lenses, and accessories.
Multiple Access Points: The bag offers quick access through a top flap and side panels, enabling you to retrieve items without fully opening the bag.
Expandable Storage: The MagLatch system allows the main compartment to expand or compress based on your load.
External Carry Straps: Perfect for securing bulky items like tripods or jackets.
Laptop Sleeve: A padded, easy-access sleeve fits laptops up to 16 inches, along with a smaller compartment for tablets or documents.
Comfort and Fit
The backpack is designed with comfort in mind, featuring padded, adjustable shoulder straps and a breathable back panel. Its ergonomic design distributes weight evenly, making it comfortable to wear even for extended periods. However, when fully loaded, it can feel bulky, especially for users with smaller frames.
Key Features
Weatherproof: Keeps gear safe in inclement weather.
Modular System: Works seamlessly with Peak Design accessories.
Secure: Zippered side panels and anti-theft features offer added peace of mind.
Versatile Use: Suitable for photography, travel, commuting, or day-to-day activities.
Drawbacks
Price: At a premium price point, it may be too expensive for casual users.
Weight: The bag itself is slightly heavy, even when empty.
Limited Depth: The slim profile can restrict carrying bulkier items.
Verdict
The Peak Design Everyday Backpack 30L is an exceptional choice for those who value durability, organization, and a sleek design. It’s especially well-suited for photographers and travelers who need quick access to their gear and robust protection. While the price and weight might deter some, its thoughtful features and versatility make it a worthwhile investment for serious users.

This is a well made bag with a unconventional design. It is different to use than what I used to in most camera bags but, accepting it's differences I find it very handy for a walk around bag in daily use in urban areas or for light travel. The top access is where I usually keep a body with lens mounted. I carry another lens in one side, another lens in the other side with various filters, blower, cloth, memory card, battery, two remotes, two cables, power bank, and step up ring. Albeit it is not my most commonly used bag, it is my favorite out of what I currently own (I have too many). I typically use a smaller bag for day-carry merely because of the size.

this backpack has been a game changer for traveling and ease of bringing the camera with. The backpack not only looks sleek, professional and premium, but servers it purposes to fullest extent and makes traveling with my camera 100 times easier. It is one thing that the backpack is exceptional for use, but the design details with the closures, clamps and sleek zippers sets the design buff in my on fire. I will only use Peak Design moving forward, and highly recommend to anyone who transports their cameras.

Everything's perfect and its the best backpack existing on earth as of date. This backpack is on a different league so please dont compare those 4 stars with any other backpacks.
You would have got my 5 stars if the below mentioned things would have been present.
1.Pocket on the straps for easy access of passport or credit cards
2.Rain cover.
3.Seperate pocket at the bottom to store wet clothes or shoes etc etc.
4.Hip belt.
6.A dedicated easy access compartment for storing sunglasses.
7.Leather version would look out of the world.
8.Some more room for expansion.
