Recently purchased THOR appliances for my new dream kitchen, and this range is far beyond my expectations! Its many features and capacity fits perfectly into my lifestyle, it looks beautiful in my kitchen. I could not be more pleased!
We bought our beautiful range at the end of November, it's now 1 month later and it's still not working. As we were doing the conditioning process and heating the oven, the light bulb made a popping sound and went out. The temperature was also 100F short of where we would set it at. Wrote in for service repair, guy came out, had to order 2 new thermostats and didn't bring the bulb with him so he first repair attempt was null. He came back out about 1.5 weeks later, replaced both thermostats, had to leave twice for parts, bought 2 new bulbs, tried 1, the first one popped. Tried another, why? (Knowing that already two had previously popped and went out!). That 2nd one went out too. Now he needs to order a new something or other and come back out again. He leaves, about 1 hour later, we hear the oven kick on by itself...that's scary. So now we have to have it unplugged and gas line off to avoid out house ya know...exploding. still waiting on part to come. Wish me luck. We've had to buy several appliances this year, all from different manufacturers (maytag washer, fridgedaire fridge and all arrived not working or broken) so I think it's just the state of our manufacturers now?? I did reach out to thor about this issue of course and they said as long as the appliance is deemed repairable, there's nothing they can do other than keep repairing it. So what happens when our warranty expires and it's still breaking??? Not looking forward to that!
I loved this oven for the first few years. But I'm slowly rebuilding it and it's roughly 5-6 yrs old. I have replaced the thermostat. Which required taking the side of the oven off to feed the temp probe. Both igniters have broken and burner electrode. Now I'm replacing the main burner assy because it's warped. I have put more into this oven than I paid for it. I have had cheaper ovens last longer. And also the burner knobs are all pealing
I bought this a few years back. I was tired of stoves with gadgets. I wanted as professional as I could get. So i took a chance on Thor. It's been great. I did have to call customer service about how the oven wasn't heating properly and makong a noise. They sent someone within 2 days (rural Canada here.) They adjusted it and no problems. It does heat about 25f less than whatever you set it at. That's my only complaint
