Love this TV picture is sharp and clear and colors are bright and vibrant I gave the design 4 stars because it could use some more HDMI ports Thinking of buying it think no longer just buy it and you won't regret it
We already own one Samsung TV so we felt very confident purchasing a second TV. This is our first smart TV. We are enjoying the great picture and features. The price point is very good for this TV. We have had it for only 3 days but are very satisfied so far.
I am a satellite technician, and I work with all sorts of televisions every day. I have been a fan of Samsung products for many years, recommending them to and installing them for my customers, and buying them myself. They tend to have the best price/performance ratio I have found, and while this television is not terrible, I am certainly dissatisfied with the smart features, and some other things.
This television has an excellent picture. It is bright and vibrant, with excellent contrast, and it seems to hide artifacting acceptably, even with fast motion.
Smart Hub has an easier interface to use than televisions they produced last year, and they did away with the default nonsense behavior of bringing up the smart hub when you turn on the television that they had for a little while.
It has narrow borders, without protrusions, such as the lowered Samsung logo that has been the standard on older Samsung televisions. That old style wasn't normally an issue, but sometimes customers of mine have had issues with mounting those televisions in tight spaces, so this may be a benefit to those people. I also find the narrow and uniform borders this television has to be more stylish, which is a personal preference of mine that others may share.
Speakers are in the rear, which all televisions are lately. This rear speaker design is usually not a problem, but generally tends to become a problem with tight enclosures and especially with tight, enclosed wall mount configurations. It is also a problem for people with hearing problems. This rear speaker design is so ubiquitous that you can't find a television without it any more, so I can't call it a pro or a con, but it is something to consider if you have tight enclosures or hearing problems, and you may also consider a sound bar to go along with it.
The volume and sound are ridiculous. Volume goes from 0 to 100, which theoretically gives you fine volume control, but in practice makes you have to hold your volume button for a few seconds before you notice any appreciable change in volume. It also seems to be terrible with the volume of analogue television. I have found that on most analogue stations, from my cable provider, this television doesn't seem to be able to provide enough volume. I can turn it up to 100, and it barely sounds loud enough, but change the channel to a digital channel without lowering the volume, and it blows the doors off. I don't have that problem with my old television. This won't be an issue for people with satellite, or even cable with a converter box. It is only a problem when you use the tuner.
The smart features of this television really need some work. I'm not sure if it is because of the hardware or the software, or a combination of both, but having used the smart features of other Samsung televisions that work fine, I am not impressed.
The first night I purchased this television, I tried to watch a television series on Netflix. It played the first episode fine, but when it went to the next episode, it froze up. I couldn't exit Netflix, change the source, or anything else. The only button on the remote that seems to work at this point is the power button. When this happens, and you turn the television off, it takes near a full minute before you can turn the television back on, and when it comes back on, as always when you turn on the television, you have to wait for a minute or two before you can use any features in the smart hub.
I thought this may be only a problem with Netflix's software, which I assume Netflix writes themselves, but I've had it freeze when using Youtube, and when streaming video from my computer and phone as well, which tells me that there is more to it than bad software from a single company. I've had this television for a week, and it has frozen on me at least 5 times already.
One other problem is that Samsung has a screen saver, which theoretically is only supposed to come up if the picture doesn't change for some period of time, which you set in the menu. This seems to be the case generally, but if I watch netflix, then switch back to video from an HDMI input, without first turning off the television, after a couple hours, the screen saver will come on, even though the video has been changing. This is obviously a software bug that can probably be easily fixed with a future software update, but it is still an annoyance.
It only has 2 HDMI ports. This means you can have your satellite and blu-ray connected, but if you want to connect anything else, like a gaming device, or other device, you will have to unplug something else. Low numbers of inputs are common with manufacturers on their lower price point televisions though. It saves them money, which allows them to sell them for less, but two HDMI ports has been too few for several years now.
Overall, I'm barely satisfied with this television, but I wouldn't be if I had not gotten it as a black Friday deal. It would have been back in the box, and at the store the next day. I am very disappointed in Samsung for churning out this television, when they usually have much higher quality.
Overall, this television is passable, and I won't be returning it, but I won't be recommending it to any customers.
Cons: smart features sluggish, too few hdmi ports, volume control is slow
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Everything works well. Looks great. As far as sound goes - some have been very critical, some have been very positive. I think it is somewhere in the middle. Good sound, clear, but volume is lacking a little. It wants to be set up right! Take your time. I set it up with help of 13 year old grandson so I knew it would be right. Reading directions is always a good idea. Single biggest concern was streaming. TV is upstairs - router is downstairs - worked great - no buffering when we tried it. Have NOT watched full movie yet but think we are ok. Streaming issues are probably Wi-Fi related and not TV related.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!
