Better than expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this last spring for a new house build in the mountains, but I was not able to try it until we were able to move in this month. The stove exceeded my expectations, but in functionality and beauty. It brought my investments in stainless and copper cookware to a new level as the cooking is even, and I am getting better results than ever. I feel like a professional cook lol! And how about other features such as oven defrost? I never expected that one, and am thrilled because we quit microwaves. Cleanup is much easier as I just wipe with a damp rag after meals and have not had to use any harsh chemicals to clean even spilled runny egg yolk…both wet part and dried yolk can right up with a wipe. I was worried about how to fit burner guards inside the stove, but it’s really not necessary if you just wipe after use. I highly recommend this stove!

Great looking and functional

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased to replace my 20 year old GE Monogram which no longer had parts available to repair the oven. This one looks and feels very similar, but this time I went with the gas oven.
I do a lot of cooking at home and I love the very powerful burners and really appreciate the blue light which glows above the knob of the burner indicating that it is on. There were many times when we left the simmer burner lit on our GE for hours and even over night! The smaller oven is larger than the GE Monogram was and it great, although the large side is smaller than my old GE. The adjustability of the racks is awesome. The burner range from high to low is really great as well and really like that there is a BTU differential between the back and front burners, the old GE's were all the same.
Now the nitpicks...the blue light indicator for the oven only is on when the oven is heating, it would be nice to have an heat indicator and an on indicator for the oven. The knobs have limited heat level labels showing only high and low/simmer. Labels for which burner goes with each knob is below the knob and if you are standing, the knob obscures the label, which I know will become second nature as I get used to the positioning. If you have a guest or someone not familiar, it is annoying. There are not any spill trays for the oven to catch drips and you are not supposed to put foil on the bottom that will impact the burners, so if you have a liquid spill of any volume, the liquid will make its way to the bottom of the range near the burners. Also, the GE had a nice feature which all components of the burner assembly and trays could be removed and cleaned in the sink, the liquid capture is permanently secured around the burners in the Thor (all manufacturers have gone to this), while my old GE had a removable spill liner, which then allowed liquids and small food particles to go down to removable spill holder trays, which could be removed and emptied/cleaned at the sink. With the spill trays affixed to the range, one has to "mop up" the spills and either put into a container or slop over to the sink.
Overall, still a great range and one of the best prices for a professional range.

Love my new range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the range to replace a 40" dual fuel Kenmore. Love it. A couple of recommendations though ... make the packing warning stickers on oven door and oven knob vinyl rather than paper. I had to spend about an hour removing them before using. I would also like all the shelves in the oven to be easy glide. The second shelf that comes with range does not slide easily and is a hazard fir me. We will be replacing this shelf.
