Efficient

Still getting use to the accuracy of this stove and oven. Seems much more efficient than what I was using for years. Well built and doesn’t make the kitchen too hot when using the oven- well insulated

I bought this gas range after cooking with electric for years. so far i like cooking with it. Some problems with it include: when the burner top is taken off to clean, it is very hard for me to get it back in the right position, also if grease or food gets on it, it is stained even after cleaning. It still looks dirty. When i lean over the stove to clean it my belly hits the knobs and it starts to make igniting sound. The description said i could take out trays under the grates for easy cleaning. i can't do that, which is one of the reasons i bought this thor over two very similar ranges, and i find it hard to clean under the grates with out knocking the burners off. The oven is not self clean{but i knew that when i bought it} and it would be nice if there were some sort of timer and clock on it. I bought a griddle and its feet sit ont the knob panel. seems wrong. maybe i bought the wrong one.

Heats up quickly, but temperature is erratic

I bought this to replace a high priced brand gas double oven, that was converted to LP. That oven was serviced 9 times for the same problem (burned out oven igniter). I thought the Thor would be a better choice because it came already equipped for LP fuel, and might not be as “persnickety” to the wetter fuel. I have used it for about a month now and feel I can give a valid review:
Pros:
1) It heats up quickly, and the high BTU burners on the range can boil water more rapidly than the converted range did
2) The range surface is easy to clean
3) The convection fan is very quiet, and will run at any temperature vs. the previous oven, which required the temperature be over 350 for the fan to come on.
Cons:
1) Since the oven doesn’t have a digital display or timer, I bought a Thermapen dual temp thermometer gauge, with one probe hung in the oven. The other probe can stay directly into food to test for doneness. Thermapen guarantees these to be calibrated and accurate. If the gauge is correct, the Thor oven does a poor job of staying at a set temperature. If I set the oven knob at 350, the thermometer says it ranges from 320 to over 400, even after a half hour of letting the oven warm up.
2). The oven is noisy, in that it “Pops” when it turns on to control the heat, even after the initial warm up.

Best stove we owned

We owned many different brands in the past and very high-end ones with touch panel and techie features, but they were never reliable always had an issue with them. We never thought we are going to get a stove that is this simple with no display or anything whatsoever, but it was on clearance at our local brick store and for the price I couldn't say no bought it and brought it home and start using it. We absolutely love this thing. It's built like a tank, not like the other with plastic knobs and cheap quality which the weigh less then 150 pounds. This thing is super heavy duty. It weighs 350 pounds needed for people to unload this thing and bring it inside. We love the simplicity of this stove.
