I recommend this mixer 100%. I have been baking for 50 years, and I've found it harder and harder to buy basic, reliable small appliances. There are so many "turbo" gimmicks and useless add-ons that the fundamental purpose of the appliance is missing. I bought and returned two other mixers - both well-known brands - because they didn't have a low speed! They were so focused on creating a powerful machine, they forgot you rarely need hyper-power on a hand mixer. Their "low" was really the traditional "high." I should have gone with the more expensive Cuisinart the first time around, because we already had two of their appliances and both are exceptional. I won't try to go cheap again.

I was looking for a hand mixer that had a slow start so ingredients didn't fly around the kitchen but powerful enough to tackle thick cookie dough. This mixer does both and is the most quiet hand mixer I've every had! It's light weight which is a plus also. So far, I'm very happy I chose this mixer.
