[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the p17 laptop it exceeded my expectations. My only down side was that of shipping and waiting to arrive from China via japan.
The laptop screams with the 32 gb memory and 1 TB of ssd drive.

Solid laptop for 3D

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased a ThinkPad P17 for work, as corporate policy was to choose laptops over desktops. I chose the 20SQS02400 model, with an Nvidia Quadro RTX3000. While I am a software engineer, I do a lot of 3D work with CUDA, OpenGL, SolidWorks, etc.
So far this has been a great machine. It's solid, not flimsy or fragile. The software update process was painless, and I can drive an external monitor easily. I use it as a desktop replacement, shutting down the main screen most of the time in order to drive a larger external monitor. Thunderbolt ports are very handy for driving my pro-level Universal Audio Apollo 6x audio system.
Screen is pretty nice on its own, keyboard is solid, but I use externals for both of them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Scientific data processing is not only Cpu intensive bound, but also data I/O bound.
Having fast M2 2280 SSD let the user be able to compute a task in a glimpse.
UHD with 4K resolution display helps to have a simple overview the different on going activities,as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought it since I started my masters in Accounting so I was looking for something that will last but I also wanted a big screen. I needed to download and install zoom for my first class it literally didn’t take more than 30 seconds! I was amazed! Love the screen, love the computer how incredibly fast it is. Of course it’s heavy because it’s a workstation but that’s exactly what I wanted!
