This workstation has been amazing. As I transitioned to college for Aerospace Engineering, I needed a computer that could handle just about anything I throw at it. I have used other lower end computers from Dell and HP ($1000-$2000 range), but I could bog them down while tinkering in high school. For college I wanted something that could keep up with my wants and needs, and this workstation from Lenovo has hit about every mark. It handles complex 3D rendering, it shows pictures and videos with amazing quality, it is large enough that I can work without an extra monitor, and I can even game during my free time. The fingerprint reader is also a nice addition to speed up security without shortcuts. The only "complaint" I have is the battery life. I know it is to be expected with a laptop of this size, and I expected it as my previous laptops had the same issue. The battery life does not bother me because I'm rarely without a electrical outlet, but I will note it for others looking at this laptop. I think I can get about 2-3 hours on average with normal use, but I haven't tested it yet. The battery life does not affect my stars as it is to be expected out of a workstation. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and I do not expect to need to upgrade in a long while.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a cloud engineer and a native linux user so I bought this laptop because it says that had red hat Certified support, I suspected that it should work properly with fedora too but was not exactly the case (the computer does not come back if it goes to sleep while you are working and sometimed just freeze and the computer does not recognize new connected monitors, it does if they are already connected when you turn on the laptop) . I went to the support page and it says that Lenovo have support for Ubuntu too so I installed it but was the same case with recognizing the monitors and sometimed with the sleep. The performance of the computer is really something amazing, the quality of the build is very good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A very strong performer; runs Oracle's P6 and Navisworks effortlessly. Cooling is good and has the best screen of any Lenovo I have owned. It is nice and heavy - as it should be - with proper fan ducts and all the ports you will ever need. Only minor criticism would be that compared to the rest of this robust and well-built laptop the keyboard and especially the trackpad don't feel as solid and beefy.

It has an onboard NIC which I had to trouble shoot networks. All of the part are top notch, nothing cheap about this build. It has a terrific battery life of about 5 hours. The display is crystal clear and very sharp. I highly recommend this workstation.

Additionally, it has many ports which is compatible with my J5 dock device. Also, it has been a great cad station. Honestly, this is a must have- make the sacrifice and you won’t regret.
