[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received my Thinkpad 17" - this machine is a beast. I bought this as my old laptop of 15 years was giving life. Thus far all is going well.
I knew this was going to be beefy, but golly... it's hard to picture what a boat this thing is until you're holding it (or... trying to anyway). This baby has all the right ports, in (almost) all the right places. (USB-C on the sides would be nice).
I was a bit shocked when I saw what it takes to upgrade ram/disk. Rather than having to take the whole case apart, there's a single-screw access panel--one panel for all four upgrade slots. The layout for the touchpad/numpad/keyboard/speakers/etc. is quite nice--except for that darned lenovo Fn vs. Ctrl thing.
The weight doesn't bother me too much, but the somewhat sharp edge kinda does. I found battery life to be rather poor, but not /much/ worse than other 17" laptops. There's a lot of "extra chassis", which is probably where the extra weight comes from. I kind of suspect some of that is do build a stronger device, some for cooling, and ... well, it's a thinkpad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome laptop. Very well thought out. Robust and professional build quality. At the same time premium and comfortable feeling Great keyboard and the best trackpad available in windows laptops. Color calibrated, very legible, comfortable, and detailed screen. Built for productivity. And it shows.
