Great functioning laptop, but has annoying aspects that made it unusable as a laptop (probably would work at a docking station or as a desktop). The side fan on the right side of the laptop blows hot air onto anyone that is using the mouse in their right hand... first 10 minutes is fine... 10 - 30 minutes it gets uncomfortable... 30 minutes on gets pretty hot and extremely uncomfortable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After studying the necessary specs for photo and video editing, I purchased my ThinkPad, custom-ordered. I expected high performance. Instead the computer is SLOW to load thumbnails in photo editing. As for video editing, the computer crashes frequently. I'm using fully licensed and current software from Corel, Adobe and Microsoft. This is sad, because I bought all new software and have spent hours trying to get this rig to perform, even going so far as to reinstall Windows.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is a solid machine. It is very quiet. It does not weigh too much. The battery lasts a fair bit. It does feel marginally slow for my configuration. It takes longer to wake up from deep sleep than I expected. The edges are uncomfortably sharp when typing for long periods. There was very little bloatware, which I appreciate. I like the clean simplicity of the design. There is no full-size SD card reader on my model which was disappointing. I do like typing on the keyboard. I feel that the camera could easily have been upgraded above 720p for a modern computer. The internal speakers are unsurprising. The screen is bright. Viewing angles are wide. The hinge is well balanced for the weight of the base. It feels rigid and smooth.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the keyboard because the keys are not too close together. Less chance of making typo errors. The screen is easy to see and I really like the light weight which makes it easier to carry and travel. I would highly recommend it.

I like many things with this PC, but never ending problems with the mic and speakers in a time where we all use Teams, make this PC useless. This is my second lenovo, and the first had blue screen issues every week, so no more Lenovo for me in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I initially bought this P15s for an employee. It was setup with Windows and all of our software. The hire didn't happen so I grabbed this machine for my daily driver. I swapped the SSD drive out and installed Ubuntu 20.04 on it without any issues. All of the peripherals seem to work with the the fresh install. Very happy.
