Problem with pictures being recognized as attachme

Everything is great and fast. However - attaching pictures as attachments to work emails fails 9 / 10. It attaches, I can see the photo, but no one is able to open the picture attachments. Never had this problem with the Note9. I use this phone 50% for my job, so it's an absolute frusteration that it doesn’t send. Attempted with both gmail app and outlook apps - neither work.

The order process was easy and fast the site showed my phone wouldn't be here until September or October and it actually arrived within a few days. I wanted this phone for the camera feature and how much storage it has. I am very pleased with the phone overall. However, I purchased a waterproof case and now I am not able to use the fingerprint unlock option. The unlock is now on the screen so the phone can't get a reading of my fingerprint with this case.
