Absolutely amazing upgrade. I wish I wouldn’t have waited this long to make the purchase. DIY install with no issues, but prior experience. It is worth every penny. Add the blind spot cameras and get it all done at once. You won’t regret it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Real Jeep owners, real parents, real review.

We own two Jeep Gladiators, we both have this unit. After having a little one in a car seat, a camera over the little one was a must, and as she has grown older and with having a 11 year old also- the Apple TV on the aux input is a savior on the long drives to Moab! The screen is super clear in the daytime which was a welcome change from her previous JVC. The additional options don’t stop. We’ve added the Sirius/XM modules to each and plan to add the heigh10 rock light system which can be controlled by this screen as well. We may add the universal unit to our Passat as well, because the system is so simple. We did have one issue in our time owning it where a dead battery caused a different upgrade (dual zone ac controls for Jeep via TazerMini) to go out and the stinger needed to be firmware upgraded to resolve climate controls on the Jeep. Super simple and did the upgrade while camping in Sand Hollow via a usb and bad internet connection! Grateful to have these units.

Works great, instructions and videos need updating

Huge and massive upgrade from my 5 inch factory radio. This radio works extremely well with no lagging or hiccups. Get to retain a lot of your previous functions as well and get bonus features. Only caveat is that the instructions and videos need to be updated, it’s out of date and hard to follow along to install.

Great Concept

I purchased this in March 2021 to replace the factory UConnect system on my Jeep JL. The instructions are ok , however the videos are great and make up for it. The assembly is a breeze and parts fit each other better than factory. The only complaint on the installation is the PAC harness should be longer so it get fit under the radio not wedged in between it, as stated by others this makes the install hard and sloppy even with the best installers taking time (watch the videos and you will see. My complaint like others is the back up camera doesn't function right 1/3 of the time, all wires have been triple checked to ensure they work and are not pinched or otherwise messed up. Yet the camera sometimes black screens or sends a bad input. I spoke to Customer service within the first week of purchase and they had me update check for updates. I have the latest firmware and as the camera works fine after I shut the vehicle down when I received the NO input message, turn it off, open door close door (cycle power) and turn it back on most of the time this is corrected. These Jeep's need these cam's as they have become much larger over the last decade and mirrors don't cut it.
The thing I do like on the interface are:
The built in XM radio (though I don't use it).
Android Auto, though I wish mirror wireless displayed came with this for this 1400+ price.
Apple Car Play (it just works)
Home interface allows for a personalized background, and you can change the start up logo.
The EQ gives a high range of adjustments with factor speakers it can make the Mopar setup feel like a good setup.
Fits right into the factory location.
Looks better than the 5-7 etc Uconnects
Physical buttons as the screen will LOCK or freeze sometimes (all touchscreens do).
PAC car settings menu.
Things I don't:
Calling/dial interface is awful (unless Android Auto)
Camera as stated above issues.
Lack of software updates (9/21)
As I believe this is android, you can't load any apps and no store to install other things, like GPS tracking, etc...

Misleading claims

This head unit looks good and sounds good upon install. That's about the extent of positives for this unit. The install itself was incredibly difficult trying to fit everything behind the dash and still squeeze the unit in to mount. It came with way too much extra wiring that my vehicle didn't need but I couldn't get rid of so had to try getting out of the way. It claims to retain all or nearly all of the factory controls but this is inaccurate. It retains the steering wheel controls, the volume knob and temp/fan controls on the center control panel but that's where it stops. Your factory set ability to sync climate controls is gone. The compass on the center driver's control menu is gone but at least they do say this in their marketing. The factory unit's ability to favorite songs/artists/teams for satellite radio is gone (no way to set this and therefore no alerts). It doesn't have the song's album graphic. It will Bluetooth with my phone for calls but does not give me text alerts or the ability to listen to/view texts like my factory unit did. It claims to be able to read and clear check engine codes but when I couldn't find how to do that and sent a message to Stinger they said it did not have that capability (I even sent a screenshot of their website where it said that it could do that). You also have to go back to the Nav page every time you kill/start the vehicle. Doesn't appear to be a way to keep that feature up on the screen. This is very inconvenient. The Nav system is pretty much worthless because it is continually giving an alert that says GPS signal lost. This happened all during our recent trip and even this past weekend when I merely drove into town to get some things. We live on the central plains and there are no obstructions even remotely close, it's a wide open space. In that span of an hour and a half, it went off 15-20 times. If my stock unit hadn't started to malfunction I would put it back in.

Well it‚ installed

Overall the radio is ok. It resolves the issues i was having with my stock radio and does give more integration with the Jeep which is nice.
That said they units install instructions are awful. The video showing the install keeps covering the plugs they tell you to use and getting all of the wiring to fit behind the unit was a nightmare.
The audio quality seems sub par when it is compared to the factory unit and and no matter the settings on the EQ the the audio generally feels flat and hallow.
The display is clear but does feel a bit like a kids toy and seems really easy to steal. I would like to have seen a quick disconnect where you could take the display with you. Also know that the display scratches extremely easily and I would highly recommend a screen protector.
Be warned there are outdated instructions for updates available showing old interfaces.
I do hesitate to recommend this product. There are not a lot of other options to maintain the functions of the Jeep so if you need to replace your unit this will work but if you care about sound quality be ready to start doing other upgrades and spending more money

Heigh10 - expensive radio maybe not worth it

I had mine for almost two years. I believed in the hype.
I had issues with the startup dropping Bluetooth and the updating for it is annoying to say the least. While it‚ cool I‚ not sure I would pay for it again knowing what I know now.

Not What I hoped it would be

There are PROs and Cons about this radio
Pros first: The screen is larger than the factor and looks great in my JT Gladiator 22. Has a lot features that the 8.4" radio stock didn't have extra camera inputs a +, the gauges on the radio, screen color adjustment, the ability to play movies and so on. And they have a great military discount
Now the CONs: for the 3 star rating:
install a bear, carplay does not work at all I have made sure twice that the right USB was plunged into the right USB port. No split screen option like the factor radio( I could NAV and the radio up factor) ( only if using carplay but would not know that), cannot move the navigation app to quick files access, and honestly I thought the sound of my original radio sounded better with the upgraded Alpine system.
I have contacted the tec department about the carplay issue with no solution yet. I take that back 1. solution they would see if they have the usb cable for carplay in the warehouse nothing yet 1 week and waiting 2. I have to file a warranty claim to get it fixed not cool at all for the price of the radio rather return it instead. iGo NAV does not have traffic alert ( slow traffic and accident).
