I have purchased OtterBox cases for every smart phone I've owned. This time, the case showed up before the phone even. Every time I drop my phone and pick it up without damage I say aloud, "Thank you OtterBox!" I can't recommend these cases highly enough.

I bought this a few months ago and I really like it. It does everything I wanted in a phone case. It isn't too bulky, too heavy, and actually has some grip to it. The only thing I am not too crazy about is the cover over the charge port. That takes some getting used to if you have never had that on a phone case before.

One flaw

I have been using Otterbox cases exclusively to protect my various iPhones over the years. The provide protection that I trust. I recently purchased the iPhone 12 mini commuter series cases, and there is one flaw that drives me crazy; the back of the case has two extra grippy rubber spots that my previous case version did not have. While their addition is nice for holding (though I never had issues holding my previous version), they are raised slightly higher than the plastic portion of the case. This results in my phone rocking lengthwise when I use it while it is placed on a flat surface, like my office desk. For this reason alone, I am not sure that I will keep the case. I want a case that is completely flush on the backside.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My old iPhone had a wonderful Otterbox - nice and rugged in three pieces - two inner plastic parts that snapped together front and back including screen cover then the nice heavy rubber back piece that slipped over it all. Very tight and secure.
This new one I bought for my new iPhone was of such lower quality and only had two pieces leaving the screen exposed. Not happy with it.
