I replaced my Iphone 8 with an Iphone 12 mini, happy that there was a new Iphone smaller in size than the 8 now available. I had a Otterbox Strada series cover for my 8 which I loved, so I ordered a Strada series for my new 12 mini. I was disappointed when it arrived to find that the case for the 12 mini is LARGER than the Iphone 8 with case. Otterbox missed the mark on this one. The reason for buying a 12 mini is to go smaller, not bigger.....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

First problem, the case itself is sized for a fullsize iphone and only the tray for the phone is sized for an iphone mini. Second, the case is harder to grip and more slippery than the phone itself. In other words, it makes your phone around 40% larger and also makes the surface less grippable, so you'll be more likely to drop you your phone. Also, I think most people (myself at least) bought the iphone 12 mini because it was small, so a case that makes it larger is subtracting, not adding value.
