Experimental wonder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to create new dried food for my family . It was great to make dried fruit and jerky . I am amazed at how easy it was to set up . I can fit a bunch of food on the five trays. It works even for someone like me that can't cook well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been searching for a way to give my family more nutritious and natural snacks but on a budget. The Elite Gourmet 5 helps me do that by allowing me to easily dry fruits and veggies: my daughters favorite has been apples so far. Next I want to try meat! I really like that the layers are transparent so I can clearly see how things are coming along.

Great jerky dehydrator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Elite Stainless Steel dehydrator is small but can be good for herbs and small batches of jerky. The trays are great for the jerky as they are steel and small holes that as meat cooks it will not fall threw. You can spray the steel trays and not stick as with paper. Only down fall i have with it is it does not have a timer so it will shut automatically off by its self. So that feature is missed badly. You cant let it go while you run to store or in bed and to expect it to shut off at certain time. Otherwise it is a great dehydrator.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this thing. Ive only used it twice one for apples and for bananas and it worked great. Just make sure you dont over dehydrate. Yes thats a possibility.
It does also distribute heat better closer to the base, but everything on the bottom 2 trays was pretty evenly done.

I have to get use to the time it takes to dehydrate things. I started with herbs and am now working on fruits. I think this will be a great addition to my kitchen.

Great for fruits

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have put Apples, Bananas and Pineapples in this awesome dehydrator and it does great. Sits right on the counter doesn't take up very much space. just put in my fruit and leave it. Just gotta remember to take them out at their time since they all have different time limits, which a little longer won't hurt them.

Perfect for small batches.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Elite Gourmet 5-Stainless Steel Tray Food Dehydrator to make beef jerky. My Boyfriend loves to make beef jerky and since it is just the two of us this product is perfect. It has an adjustable temperature that allows for all kinds of fun things to dehydrate. It is super easy to clean and does not take up that much room on the counter. My only complaint is that it does not have a timer. The instruction manual does have recipes and has a great chart listing times and temps for Veggies, Meats, and Fruit. We have not tried anything other than bee jerky at this time. The beef jerky we made came out flavorful and chewy. It was perfectly done to our tastes. Overall this is a great product. I cant wait to try dehydrating fruit for the holidays.
