Lots of software mishaps & lack of tech support

Had numerous problems that could have been avoided. Fed return was rejected because birth dates of dependents were not confirmed. Should have been prompted to check these before filing. This caused program to want to charge 2nd time for filing state return. Another problem was endless cycle on my daughters form concerning health care insurance and we could not get out of loop for about 30 minutes. Tech support was no help after 1 chat experience with 2 different representatives, Vonda B and Le Tayvia B, with no progress then 2 phone calls and 3 representatives with long waits. Total time working on fixing problem was about 20 minute on chat and over an hour and a half on phone. Finally helped with a simple fix by a friendly Brian. He was the only one who had a clue about helping with problem.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to import
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Some problems with opening itemized lists

I found for the first time that itemizing medical, insurance, etc was possible. But when I went to open an itemized list that had already been created, I was presented with a list of about 6 lists with no help as to which one. I had to try each item in the list until finding the correct one. Very annoying, and should have been fixed!

Not happy !

It went very well until it was rejected ! It was rejected because HR BLOCK said that they provided last years AGI so I would not have to. But they did NOT. I had to correct it and resend it. Terrible flaw in the program . I have been a long time customer. This is not good.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to import

Ridiculous update delays

We won't by purchasing H&R Block software again. The ridiculous delays in updating 2017 forms needed to complete returns is unacceptable. They start sending software propaganda in October and can't manage to make the needed forms available until February 23? Plus, they charge obscene amounts for in-store returns. Those poor folks don't realize they can pay an actual CPA to prepare their taxes for the same or less.
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Logical Approach to a Complex Task

I have been using this product for several years, and the software makes it a great deal easier to prepare a new return by downloading data from the previous year than starting from scratch. This program is very well sorted out and has saved me time and aggravation.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

I did not know where to enter formation and receipt totals for repairs on my rental properties. I believe I would have gotten a larger return if I could have entered the information and amounts of repairs.
I couldn't open last year's H & R Block program to get my AGI, so I had to contact the IRS for the information.
This is the 3rd year I have used H&R Block programs, but I won't anymore
