I used software and filled electronic. My return was denied and had to send proof of income. The only income I had was social security and 401k distribution. My AGI was $9,500.
Pros: Easy to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The software worked well. But I had to make sure I filled by a certain date, or H&R Block would jack up the price. They are not to be trusted.

Had to pay twice to file state

Federal rejected, corrected filing required me to pay AGAIN for state filing. Then, rejected corrected filing. Had to paper file to keep from paying fees again.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pain in the Amended Return

After buying this software and creating my return, I found I had to amend it due to post office slow delivery. I have never had so many problems getting to the section I need to be in. Trouble finding the Amend a Return form. Still not sure if I am ready to file the amended return.
Pros: Easy to import
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare

Horrible support

I've been using TaxCut for over 20 years and this is the first time I had to use their Support staff because of filing bug in their software and to put it bluntly it was horrible. I spent over 3 hours on the phone explaining the issue to 2 different people and they just had no clue. Fortunately I was able to resolve on my own.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

H & R Block imported incorrect information

I was very unhappy as my return was rejected. H & R Block put an incorrect amount for my last year's adjusted gross income, and I found it very difficult to change it to the correct amount. The incorrect figure should not have happened in the first place.
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Includes Form 8888 but you can't actually use it.

Skip this software if you intend to use form 8888 to receive part of your refund in I-Bonds. The software comes with the form, but it won't actually let you save it. Perhaps it is a bug. Good luck with the help support as it is non existent.

Cons: Hard to fix issues
