I have been using the H&R Block tax software for almost 20 years now and (obviously) have been pleased. It works the way I work and is clear and easy to use. In the past I have had rentals and the software works great with that as well. Never had any issues. Definitely recommended.

I have used the Professional version since 2018. By and large I have been satisfied with the software. However, the greatest improvement I would like to see is more contextual help for fields where the software requires user entry. Adding "hover over" explanations and / or examples would be most beneficial, especially within the Plan section. Finally, expediting software updates closer to end of January versus in March would be helpful.

I use the Mac version. It's stable. Navigation is somewhat clunky. I've had some problems with importing financial docs but it generally works fine. Although I prefer TurboTaxes look and interface, H&R runs much better and I will settle for better functionality and stability

Been using this for a number of years now and some of the same problems persist.
1. Trying to do royalties from a 1099-misc is very confusing. The program is mostly designed to handle rental income and the royalty topic is not at all clear.
2. Doing Ohio taxes and following the program regarding a possible credit for excess medical expenses will give an incorrect result unless you open the whole form and follow what the line instructions says there.

I used the premium software for the last 17 years. I found it easy to use for 95% of the time. Wish some of the interviews were more clear or easy to understand. First time I did RMD search section can find the item. I took RMD plus extra to convert to ROTH IRA very little info on the interview or online help. I finally had to do trial and error during interview to get it correct. Need to improve or I will consider switching to turbo.
Cons: Time consuming
