I have used H & R soft for last more than a decutede. They have only one year that they gave me a little struggle which was not a big computation issue. the e-file confirmation was wrong but never allowed me to override.
Other than that every year is smooth sailing to the end.

software should tell you which SCHEDULES are required to be submitted w your STATE return. in forms list, include column to indicate which forms are required to be included w STATE return. baby boomers in retirement now, are required to submit 'schedule of adjustments' and 'schedule of credits' w OHIO state return.
for OHIO state, Q on social security and railroad retirement benefits was spelled out NOT abbreviated 'RRTA', do NOT use abbreviations when asking questions. Federal income question reads 'enter your social security and tier 1 RRTA tax'. I had to rely on google to explain, what does 'tier 1 RRTA' mean ? We are paying for you to simplify the questions and NOT use abbreviations when doing so.

I have used The Block for years. A couple of years ago I tried another software but quickly decided to return the following year. I find Block easier to understand and much better at doing my husband’s self-employment tax for ministers.

Saved me from being a hostage to glitch Intuit pro

There was a glitch in Turbo Tax which would not allow me to file. I had already paid. I sought out H&R Block because it's a name I know. I did my taxes in half the time, got a larger refund, and was able to e-file immediately for less than half the cost. I will never use anything else. I'm a convert.
