Great program for the price. Have used successfully for years. This year it failed me by not explaining well how to enter an aquisition date when selling a long held mutual fund.

Premium tax software did not correctly calculate New Jersey state pension exclusion. I paid extra for state Software, so this was disappointing.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

HRB Premium 2024 worked very well. I have used previous versions for about 20+ years and this year’s version seemed to work smoother and better (easier) than previous ones.
I am slightly concerned because the Federal software had an upgrade 1 dat after I filed my taxes..
I would recommend this to a friend!

It got the job done but I do not like that it is "ready to file" without every actually letting you look at the return before sending it. You can go to the forms tab to see individual sheets, but the system does not let you do a nice look over before it wants to just send it for you.

You have a problem in your software. For rentals, if an individual earns a certain amount then they cannot take an deduction that is allowed for taxpayers that make under a certain amount. Because of the way you handle it is bad software writing. You force the individual to go in to the form and zero the exemption out by hand, then the software ends up telling the person they cannot do this and creates a lot of unnecessary hoops to jump through to understand what went wrong. Please correct this in your software I face this issue every year. It took me a few hours to figure out why your software is so poorly written.
If an individual earns more income then the tax law requires to take the deduction, than your software needs to understand that and zero the rental deduction out thereby not forcing the person to jump through your idiotic hoops and forcing a person to open a form to make a change that your software than says you are not allowed to do that and cannot file the program unless it's corrected.
