I've been using H&R Block software for over 10 years, so it was a no-brainer to go with it again this year. I love the way it keeps up with my rental business depreciations from year to year. Other data carry overs from previous years are terrific also, such as previous year's AGI for filing verification.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

Software was fine, BUT when it came to file I was charged for my one e file even though the software came with "5 free federal e files". Last company I thought would scam you, but that's the new way. Can't trust anyone.

I have been using H&R Block Premium Tax software for many years. The software will carry over information from the previous year into the current tax year thus making the process faster and more accurate. Follow the step-by-step on-screen instructions and it will prompt you when needed. Recommend that you collect all necessary paperwork beforehand to eliminate most issues.

I switched from TurboTax to H&R Premium about 5 years ago. Have been completely satisfied until now. Could not download Merrill Lynch data. Called Support. They were nice but couldn't fix the problem and had to "escalate" it. After a week of waiting I just entered the data manually, which was a pain and defeated the whole purpose of having a program. Other than that one glitch I've been happy. May go back to TurboTax next year though.

The program overall is pretty solid, however there are a few persistent errors that come up every year, and they are always the same ones. One is the ability to uncheck a selection after you have initially checked it without going through the dialog and deleting anything you've previously put in. The program doesn't seem to know how to undo things. It gets the job done, but you have to get used to it.
